Gooning is when, after edging for a long period, you enter certain trance like state where you lose your sense of space and time. Some encounter extreme euphoria. It's like being hypnotized.

I've never personally experienced it, this is just what I've been told from others who have and what I've read online. I have and do often edge for long periods, but I've never entered a trance state from doing so.
