Nico did say in one interview that they “fell in love” with a guy when they were in their mid 20s, but that guy broke their heart. And therefore, they refuse to invest in a guy again. Who knows how true that was. They could have said that partially to help legitimize their “queer card”. But that along with some of the indirectly anti-gay and misandrist things they’ve said does hint that they’re very inherently “queer” but also has a lot of traumas, mental health issues and issues with men in general.
Once again, this is why looking back, I do regret going in on them as hard as I did. I’ve never questioned their “queerness” and I never really cared about their dimensions, lifestyle, relationships, or where they were in the gender, sexual, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum. But if you know you have a lot of traumas, mental health issues, insecurities, gay resentments that you haven’t confronted and intend on hetero commitment only, trying to be the face of “queerness” and “fluidity” for a handful of years is not an appropriate route to go. Then again, it’s similar to what a lot of these male porn performers/sex workers do.

He's nice to look at but comes across as an extremely exhausting person to deal with in general.
It boggles my mind when people feel the need to question someone's place in the community just because you are not personally seeing them in a relationship with someone of the same sex. Public figures owe us nothing about the inner workings of thier personal lives. I actually think that Nico is someone that has told more about his sex life and relationships than most.
Bi/Pan erasure is the type of shit that keeps people in the closet. Nico is married, they have been in a relationship with thier partner for many years now and while yes they have often talked about being poly it does not mean that they need to go public with every person that they fuck.
Whether or not Nico has said things that can be construed as "anti-gay" (which I have not personally seen and don't have the interest in going to look for) does not take away their place in the community. Even if they have said shitty things about the LGBTQ+ commuity, it doesn't mean they get booted out of it. There are plenty of horrible members of the community that I don't agree with what they say but it doesn't change thier idenity. *coughcoughCaitlinJennercoughcough* It is not anyone's place to dictate what someone identifies as.
Both Nico and Kyle Krieger have said not only on Kyle's youtube channel but also on Nico's podcast that they dated but also spoke about it while it was happening; Nico saying openly that they were in love with Kyle. So if you want PROOF, there you go. They also said while they were in high school was when they first started experimenting with thier sexuality.
Do I fully believe that there are people that flash the queer baiting card for clout... ab-so-fucking-lutely. I hate it. It annoys the fuck out of me. But I don't see how Nico is doing anything to use their queer idenity for any gain. I haven't actually seen them doing anything publicly until recently. Just let people live their lives. Call out the clout chasers, but also allow the genuine ones to just live without needing to tattoo LGBTQ+ on their forehead and suck a dick in the town square to prove themselves.

Only for nico today to announce the very hetero normative experience of the pregnancy of a second kid which even is boasted about in the comments section about conceiving both naturally without IVF….. and again it’s been eons since the inclusion of any lgbt aspects in how nico manoeuvres. I mean from drag race to now…. It seems to be nico is enjoying the comfort of a heteronormative life.
Why would you begrudge him of that?
