He has a lot of issues, I mean, he is a recovering substance addict, he's had issues with law enforcement, domestic abuse, etc. I'm sure opening an account in any bank represents a problem when you have a bad record.

I don't believe the bank account is the problem. It seems he wants immediate access to the money (OF deposits income once a month). I'm confident his concerns involve OF's percentage and the tax implications on earnings reported from OF.
