This isn't the one, but I have read this one too! You really are in to cockfighting! The blog I was refering to featured an unfinished story whose protagonist is a detective (I think...?) who is involved in a cock fighting tournament.

I wrote it awhile back, and I had plans to continue it but never did. I think the last chapter was too short, and it made me a little worried that the next chapter I'd write wouldn't meet the mark either, so I just sorta stopped. I might get back to writing it and hopefully finish it if anyone shows interest, though!
