It may not sound a big deal since you can always use VPN etc, but it's actually very annoying, I know this first hand. I have a free wifi hotspot coming with my cable internet subscription, but for some strange reason, the wifi hotspot IP always pointed to the state of Utah not my home state, and Utah has the similar age verification law passed last year and Pornhub had disabled the access in that state too.

Xvideo, xnxx, xhamster and plenty of other sites are operating just fine in NC… Pornhub is pulling a political stunt and it’s pathetic.

What? it's not a political stunt, Pornhub is the biggest porn site, their parent company has been targeted for years by American christian groups, they have a lot to lose if they don't comply, the states will go after them for fines, the other sites like xhamster xvideos etc simply don't bother because no one cares about them, the states can't reach them, xhamster is in Germany and the real ownership is not even clear which company is behind it. Pornhub/Mindgeek is in Canada, they have a huge target on their back, the stake is too high for them!

To me personally, Pornhub isn’t any better than any other site… it might be the “biggest” and dominates search engine results but it’s like meh… no different than the other sites.

It will eventually just lose business and will very soon NOT be the largest porn site.

Keep laughing, that's how the freedom and liberty are taken away from your country piece by piece, because the matter seems nonsensical and trivial, it's not a big deal if we lose access to one website on the internet or two books in the library.

The fuck am I supposed to do about it? I’ve been in Colorado for the last four years. I’ve been in NC for two whole weeks. I have no idea how this law got passed or the history behind it… and I had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Don't you all know about all of the free VPNs that can get around all of the ultra conservative laws like this? They work and do not cost a thing. So far I have not had the porn police breaking down my door. Oops, maybe they are on their way now. My bad.

Maybe I'm missing something but how is it "ultra conservative" to make sure that only adults are accessing pornographic materials?
Because ultra conservatives like to pick and choose the parts they agree with in the Constitution. It’s not, or at least shouldn’t be, the government’s job to restrict kids from accessing pornography or anything for that matter, on the internet. That’s a parent’s job.
Why should an entire state be restricted access because someone can’t control what peoples kids are looking at on their devices?
