a few months back troye sivan posted a pic of him with his sister and the girlies were going rabid thinking he had gone bi and was dating a girl. influencer benji kroll, who is openly bi but only known to have been with men, had the same issue when he made a tik tok with his sister, and the girlies immediately thought that was a girlfriend.
they do that shit to real people, but also fictional characters. like writing fanfics about gay male characters getting together with a woman. like when shadowhunters was airing, so many of the female audience were making alec go bi or go straight for clary.
so no, that poster isn't harmless. they're just one of the many girlies who will see a gay man with a woman and immediately talk about him going straight

That’s actually my main motivation why I ended up in this thread. I’m evidently not a fan (I don’t hate him, and he is very photogenic, but he has some serious shortcomings), and the way he is sort-of out, and sort-of in the closet, intrigues me. The underlying motive, I mean.
