I know its said that erections fade with age but I get none . Every morning i hope i will feel something but its just soft and needs a lot of manual work and clenching my thighs and butt to stimulate my cock. It doesn’t bring on a good quality erection . Feels a bit soft and just dull. It doesn’t feel normal but could this be common for guys my age? It wasn’t long ago that I could j/o once w day.

We've all had a more stressful world with pandemics and inflation which can deplete the body of essential building blocks more than usual, try supplementing with zinc and arginine\citrulline

I'm 52 and have morning wood almost every day. You're 40 and haven't had it in months? I'd recommend a visit to your doctor. There's probably some underlying problem you haven't realized yet.
I'm with jon1971. please see a Doctor. You're too young still.
At 40 I felt like I could split diamonds with my erection.
Even now at 69 (almost 70) I can still have some stunning morning wood.....At least my wife says it's stunning.

I'm 63 and started getting fewer erections and only about 80% hard starting about 18 months ago. Psychologically, I resisted getting Cialis, but I finally asked my endocrinology to prescribe 4 tables (the generic name is, laughably, tadalafil) (and he's a guy in his late 20s and I enjoyed speaking with him about such male issues and pretending to be all business-like about it, when what I really wanted to do was ask him how often he jacked off, etc.
ANYWAY... it was a fucking MIRACLE. My erections came back, and my dick actually felt bigger (which one dude that I had a relationship way back with whom I've reconnected ) thought so to.
So now I'm a big proponent of Cialis. Try it.

Wow, splitting diamonds with a boner haha I wish I felt that. That’s nice your wife appreciates it! t guess I can get turned on but it feels like it needs a lor of effort. They don’t stay up for long and I tend to avoid ejaculating because orgasms leave me feeling excessively drained and weak.

My health doesn’t feel that great. Terrible sleep for the last two years. Less endurance exercising as a result. Less resilience at work. there is reasonable stress. I’m not overweight 163 pounds / 74kg. Don’t smoke but have a little to drink socially
MAte I can give you quite a few years and believe me age doesn't stop the morning boner, one feel to check it's rock solid and the day begins.
If I were you I'd most certainly consult a doctor, there must be an underlying reason you can't get hard etc etc etc.

I'm 50 with ED problems during the day, but at end of night/morning I easily get rock hard morning wood. I know mine is mostly psychological, but do take drugs that affect ED, have stress, and drink a bit. My psych provider encouraged me to j/o every day to try to improve it. She's of the 'use it or lose it' mentality, so I do try to 'force' myself to do it everyday, but it's difficult. And I've never been able to j/o with morning wood, the feeling isn't the same. I do like to feel it and rub it, and wish I could have this hardness during the day...

So hard overnight and in the morning it wakes me up and doesn't go down. I'm 47 I'll be 48 later this year. I get hard very fast whenever I want or need to. I never use porn or imagery anymore, 3 years sober of that stuff. Erections better now than maybe in my 20s. OP you should see a doctor. Write down everything you eat and evaluate your diet. Do you take a multivitamin? You can't get everything you need from food anymore, not today, our soils are depleted of nutrients and essential elements. Try to exercise, even do just walking. Don't eat at night after 10pm or 2 hours before your bedtime. Good luck!

I am a big believer in sleep, particularly good, quality sleep. Do you snore? You can go all the way from a new/better bed for you through to a Dr visit. I also used a whoop for awhile and use a simpler Garmin now, but it really helped me figure out what impacted my sleep (hint it was alcohol).

If you are exhausted, you don’t work out, and then you have a whole list of health issues.

Thanks for the advice. It makes sense. I just never thought stress could be this disabling . Usually my sex drive would kick in to help me deal with stress, now it seems theres no energy or pleasure left there
