Jeez, take the hint already.

A little background first. I broke up with this girl a few months ago because she cheated on me after I told her I wanted to wait a while longer before we had sex. Since I'm not one to forgive and forget and believe in "Once a cheater, always a cheater" then I told her to take a hike. Now she keeps calling my cell phone and leaving messages. I haven't returned any of them. I'm completely ignoring her. It's been almost a week of this. Why the hell can't she take a hint?
I never thought I'd ever have a girlfriend, let alone one that once broken up is after me like I was some sort of great catch.

| | Because you have proven to be a keeper and a man of standing. To paraphrase Spike Lee as the immortal Mars Blackman from She's Gotta Have It": "Every woman wants a freak, they just don't want to take him home to mama." She went and got her freak on and she is having remorse and realizes she had a good thing. Stand your ground. You can and deserve better than that. Cheating, no matter how "innocent" it is believed to be is still cheating and tantamount to lying. You don't need it. Good for you man! |

| | Make it more than a hint. Call her and tell her you don't want her leaving any more messages. Make that clear and then get off the phone. (Does your phone plan allow you to send voice-mail messages, so there's no worries about you finding yourself actually chatting with her? That might be the way to go.) The thing is to make a very clear, forceful statement, without being abusive or unkind. |

| | Like Senor said leave a clear message letting her know you don't want her to contact you in any way, people with a streak of stalker in their personality can interpret communications for their own ends so it has to be something they can't read a hidden meaning into. |

| | I once bailed on a cheatin' girlfriend and endured some of that "remorse" behavior as well. I ignored her and she eventually stopped. |

| | Try Youmail.com for your cell phone, it lets you ditch callers and prevents them from leaving a message, and gives individual callers different voicemail greetings. I use it to get rid of tricks that won't go away ;) Good luck! |

| | Not all instances of cheating deserve the 'kick to the curb'. However, if you aren't prepared to go that way, then by all means tell her to stop calling you. Sounds like Youmail.com is also the way to go (thank you for that suggestion hotshotcock!) |

| | Sounds like you and I have similar problems with the opposite sex. They never realize how good we are until we are gone. I'd recommend just ignoring her. |

| | Like someone else said, I'd do more than a hint. Flat out tell her that she's done and you want nothing to do with her. I can sympathize with your standpoint though. I don't forgive and forget either. I'm pretty cold about that sort of thing. Not a pretty trait though, so I'm trying to change. |

| | What makes you so sure she cheated? You want her back you know you do. Making up is so much fun. Take it from a lady . DONT IGNORE HER. YOU MAY NEVER GET RID OF HER. IF she did in fact cheat on you She wouldn't be calling YOU. |
