No smiles
I'm sad.
Seriously.
See?
Do meds make you actually feel any happier? Does anything work to make people happier?

| | I don't know... Sometimes I wonder if maybe I am bi-polar... I get very upset at times and I cry daily... idk. I would like to find out what's wrong. I'm sorry that you are so sad :( |

| | Nah, meds don't make you happier. They make you level enough so you can actually have real emotions and deal with your issues in a rational, sane manner. The only thing that can make you happier is improving your life and loving yourself. For people with mental illness, medication is there to facilitate getting well. The hard work still has to be done by the patient. I think happiness can be overrated anyway. Given the choice, I'd rather lead a life that is, on the whole, fulfilling, meaningful, and challenging. I guess "happiness" to me implies a state of mind that is pleasant but not really complex. I get extremely frustrated and angry at times that I don't have a less emotionally-challenging life. I don't know if I'd change it, though. |

| | Thanks Mandee. You're sweet. Sometimes I wonder if it's seasonal affective disorder. Hopefully the sun will come back out soon and I can get back to being what used to be myself... if said self ever existed at all. (I'm starting to sound like Eryore in Winnie the Poo!) |

| | You have to decide to be happy in order to be happy. Much like my advice on self confidence, you may need to fake it for a while until you believe it. |

| | Good point, Snooz. I guess if there was a happy pill, someone would be awfully rich. (Or maybe that's what sex is for?!) ![]() |

| | Ah, rob -- what the hell does a talking chicken know?! ![]() Actually, you have a point there. I'll try it... tomorrow... when I'm hopefully feeling a little better. (Now where IS that "better" so that I lay my hands on it) (very stupid play on words... my bad) |

| | I agree in part with Rob, if you fake being happy people will perceive you as happy and their perception can alter the way you feel. |

| | Nah, the drugs don't make you happy, they give you the opportunity to be content. That opportunity is what you make of it. Otherwise you're just wired. Sorry to hear you're feeling low. It's a crap time of year anyway. |

| | I hope you feel better soon. I don't think that absolute , everlasting happiness really exist. Most people search complete happiness in religion , family , jobs , sex, drugs etcs but that is useless . We live in a imperfect world , we all have some happy and some bad moments . |

| | Who says we're supposed to feel happy all the time? I find it strange that some people think something must be wrong if they feel sad or depressed. It's healthy to allow ourselves to experience the sadness as long as you don't wallow in it for months. That's how I truly appreciate the happier moments in life. |

| | exactly. if we did not feel the depths of sadness, we would not know when things are amazing! seasonal affective is brutal, especially now, in the midst of winter. try and get south for a week...makes a huge difference. to afford a vacation without much pinch to the finances, sock away 20$ weekly starting NOW and then you will have enough for a winter break....or, ask family and friends for cash or giftcards to travel agencies instead of stuff! xoxo |

| | You've got it all backwards... A frown can't be cured by a pill, but a smile is certainly contagious :D And yours certainly is! Seeing the smile in your Avartar always brightens my mood, but then I read your posts and I bust a gut laughing at some of them! Hope you're feeling back to yourself soon. I almost wrote "hope you feel yourself soon" but realized it could be misconstrued on a site like this :P |

| | There is a drug called SLB. You know it should be illegal, but fortunately... :D I send thoughts of happiness in the direction of Los Angeles (CA...wherever!). I'm a bit tired myself tonight. And not just physical tiredness. Anyway... *squidge* |

| | I know I haven't been round as much and I am WAY behind on catching up with you on things, but know that you are in my thoughts hotmilf. How can such a gracious woman not be on my mind? Sending you virtual hugs and a nice bottle of wine. |

| | Snoozan's post is 110% correct as is SugarandSpice. A few years back Oprah used to recommend that every one have a 'Gratitude Journal" where they write down 5 things a day that they were thankful for. I suggest you start with that but definetely see a doc as well. For many people anti-depressants act like jumper cables. They only need to take them for 6-12 months to get back on track and then they can be phased off them. |

| | HM, I get quite sad a lot too... There's a lot, infact an innumerable amount, of things to be sad about. But with that said, the things that make you happy are all the more special. If some reason they are too few and far between... Get up and make it happen baby. That's what I always do. Crawl off and out of that pungent stink of depression and go do something that will make me happy.. Whatever works for you, find something that makes everything fade away. I hope your spirits get lifted soon. I want some more funny hotmilf posts :P |
