I married my dream girl, I married my dream girl, ...

He married his dream girl,
he married his dream girl,
but she didn't know that
the boy was a cad.
'Cause now he's dissing her
for all their credit problems,
while he's the one who's sponging
off her mom and dad.
No, they can't get along,
and so he's singing a song
with his slacker buddies,
when he should be finding a job.
If she had tried her luck
instead on match-dot-com,
she wouldn't have to wash
the underwear of a slob.

| | Nah -- I've posted before that I think he's reasonably cute. But the content of the ad bugs me. He starts out by calling her his "dream girl", and ends with saying that if he'd only known about her credit rating, he'd "be a happy bachelor". How cynical and unromantic is it that he'd drop his dream girl over a damn credit rating? The sentiment in this commercial turns me off, and I figured that I'd give some equal time to the poor girl who's trying to keep up with the housework while none of the guys lift a finger. |

| | Jesus Christ, that is one of the most objectionable TV commercials I've ever seen. I guess now you need to do a background check and run a credit report before you go out on a date. As usual, the credit industry is just another fat, bloated pig looking to exploit a larger consumer base and have a bigger market share. What the credit industry doesn't tell you is that credit scores do little to predict if someone will default on a loan or not. Defaults on loans etc. have actually gone up, not down since the inception of credit reporting. |

| | Yeah, that one sorta rankled me as well. The thing is that credit can be a deal breaker these days. Sad though it may seem. |

| | ... No, they don't get along, so he's hitting the bong with his stoner buddies when he should be looking for work. It's time for her to dump his ass dot com, so she won't have to go on munchie runs for a jerk. |
