IP phone service is reliant on 400kbps+ internet service, and they do have trouble with the phone servers from time to time where I live. Nothing a reset can't handle, but what gets me is how long it fucking takes to reboot an IP phone server. The company that I used to work for had Cisco IP Telephony products, and it took like no-joke.... an hour for the phone server to re-boot, re-aquire IP addresses, and re-establish backbone support.

I can't imagine how you feel. I can understand not wanting to go back for the fall semester. I doubt I would either.

I wish I could be shocked that they failed to notice your dad had a stroke while in the hospital; but the exact same thing happend to my uncle when he was in the hospital in spring 2005. The truly sad part is it took them 3 months to notice! The doctors excuse, "he had so much other stuff wrong with him it was hard to tell."

I'm moving this summer out of here and back into Vancouver area. I'm not enjoying life in the suburbs at all after being here for 4 years.

It's about to happen here soon - the economy is fine (for now!), but I know the majority of them must be upto their eyeballs in dept and they must be maxed out on their credit.

Luckily Shaw my service provider for cable tv, internet and phone gave me excellent on-line support. They reset my phone server as it's connected to the internet via cable tv lines and within a minute - the phone was back working!

I must say that SHAW has been wonderful with their services. I used TELUS before for phone, tv and internet and had nothing but trouble and very bad service.

its called being in debt up to your eyeballs. I hope it isn't as bad up there as it is here in the States, but our economy is crumbling b/c of people such as those mentioned by you.

Real estate in lower mainland area Vancouver is crazy with some of the highest prices in north america. I simply don't know how a couple can afford a house $750,000 plus two cars worth $45,000 each. They also likely pay someone to do their lawns and clean the house.
