1. Club Cafe/209 (located on Columbus Avenue - Back Bay, orange line). It was/is the hub of the Boston, gay scene sporting everyone from young twinks to wealthy gay men in their 50s and 60s and everything in between. It probably caters most to a mid 30s crowd.

2. D-Bar in Dorchester . dbar | dinner, dancing, drinks, nightlife | dorchester, ma . I've never been, but it's rivaling Club Cafe as far as trendiness.

3. ?? in the theatre district on the corner of Tremont and Stuart St. (very close to China town). On Saturday nights, you'll basically find a rave-like environment.

Ah #3 sounds like Rise, or am I mistaken? Of course there's Machine/The Ramrod on Boylston near Fenway Park and Paradise (aka Parasite) in Cambridge's Central Square area on Mass Ave.
