What did you do this weekend?

I met a girl!

I hadn't been surfing in almost a year so I decided it was time I went out to work on my chops. So, I put my board in my truck, grabbed my wetsuit, & headed out to my faborite surfing beach (yes, I'm keeping it a secret).

I've always freeballed it in a wetsuit or pair of board shorts &, even though I'm fairly shy, I'm confident (or exhibitionistic) enough to put my suit on standing by my truck, changing in front of God & everybody. (Usually, I'm with my friend Noah, so I just don't think about it.) I had just pulled up my wetsuit to my waist when a girl said, "Nice back." (I didn't even think until much later that she might have seen me nekid. If I'd thought about it then, I might have stayed at my truck!)

I've always hit my back pretty hard when I lift & I'm pretty proud of it, so she was pressing my buttons. I looked over & saw this girl with bright green-eyes & dirty blonde that got red when the sun hit it. Wow. She had wetsuit on to her waist, a bikini top & a board under her arm. Wow-wow! She's muscular & athletic, not really skinny like so many girls now - I hate the really skinny look. This girl has a body.

I zipped up & we chatted as we walked to the beach (I let her walk a bit in front of me to let her lead) & then hit the waves. She was good. Much better than me. We always seemed to hit the beach around the same time & place (I'm a good enough surfer to make sure of that ) & we continued our conversation through the day. Turns out, I sort of know her younger brother (who's got mad surfing skills). We used to see each other at this same beach & he actually gave me a few pointers last Summer. Great guy. (I shoulda asked him a year ago it he had a sister. )

Her name is Carrie & she's 25. (Turns out her li'l bro, David, is only 18! Man, he's good. She says all he does is surf & play X-box - he & I will get along.) So, I had just worked up the sack to ask her for her 7 digits when she said, "Are you gonna get my number to we can go out sometime?" (I 'bout got a stiffy! She has this way of being so casual yet to the point. I totally dig that.) As we exchanged phone numbers, she pointed at my board (which is white with a huge Batman logo on it in red - yep, I'm a Batman geek - & I was like 15 when Kingdom Come by Waid & Ross came out) & asked, "Have you seen the new movie yet? Batman's the best." Or something like that - by this point I was falling really hard & my eyes had totally glazed over & I was thinking, this girl's too perfect! I told her I hadn't had the chance yet & she said I should call her & we'd go this week!

Excellent. I've never met a girl in such organic conditions before. Nothing was forced. And she's really hot, too. I was thinking about her all day Sunday. I'm going to call her tonight. Dark Knight might be a bit much for a first date but I'm considering Saturday our first so, really, it'll be #2! And I'm not big on movies when I first start seeing a girl because they're so passive. So we'll hafta go out for a beer to discuss the movie after.
