One of the few things I will fight my siblings over is my mother's records. She had the NBC Symphony Orchestra with Rise Stevens, Jan Pierce, and Robert Merrill on a special edition of La Traviata celebrating the 50th anniversary of Verdi's death. It was conducted by Arturo Toscanini himself.

The French love her so much they named an orchid after her.

Well they should.

One time a woman charged that Enrico Caruso pinched her big bottom. He was fined $10 for the offence. hahaha

Somewhere around here I have the sheet music and lyrics to La Donna e Mobile.

As for Jessye Norman.....lovely voice. My voice teacher always called her Jesse Nourmous though....Monserrat Caballe was also Monster-fat Cowbelly. Such a charming man he was.
