Leak-e Dick

Hi,
Just in the last 6 months, I have been having trouble after I pee. I can't seem to seal off totally. Sometimes another squirt, almost always a slow drip after peeing. Anyone been through this? Shouldn't be an STD. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

Take your finger, reach between your legs, start near your butt, and run your finger up underside of the urethra. That should get it all out. A doc told me to do that years ago.

"No matter how much you jump and dance, the last few drops are in your pants."

Called post void dribbling / leaking / incontinence...

It was explained to me that it was fairly common.

..."when the urine stream comes to an end, a natural reflex occurs that tightens the sphincter muscle and cuts off any further passage of urine.
However, this very useful mechanism can turn against you when you strain and rush to finish too fast. The prematurely closing sphincter keeps the remaining urine from flowing out. Once your body relaxes, so does the urinary sphincter, and at the most inopportune time, meaning when your penis is tucked away again, a small amount of urine leakage occurs"... Advice that HOOTIE gave is spot-on. That is the same advice that my Urologist suggested.

How old are you, Ohcanada? In older guys (not sure how old) this can be a sign of prostate trouble which it would be wise to get checked out sooner rather than later.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I am 25 years old. I think I will take trip to the Dr. just in case. Thanks.

As I got older I realized that there would always be a drop or two left just inside the hole. I hate it when the briefs or boxers absorbs this drip and I can feel it against my leg so to solve this I took to going into one of the cubicles to pee, then taking a little toilet paper and wicking off that which just stayed inside the pee hole. Seems to work for me - no drip - no wet feel on shorts.

Well, I went to the Doctor. No UTI, no bladder infection and (best of all) no prostate problems.
Doctor thinks it is a stress issue. It so happens that I had a kid, am starting a new job and moving to the complete opposite side of the globe....all this month. I thought that was possible but just wanted to make sure it wasn't something else. He explained that when you are stressed, often your sphincters contract a lot throughout the day. Then, when you go to urinate, your sphincters are too tired from working all day to do their job 100%. Made sense to me. Guess it's meditation for me! Anyone have any good relaxation ideas?
As well, I don't think my problem will go away entirely, or all at once. So I think the above mentioned tricks will come in very handy. Thanks again for your advice guys and girls.

I don't have an idea for calming outside of what my therapists tell me to do. Pick a favorite scent and keep it close for when you feel stressed out. A favorite song or taste is fairly easy to do as well.

What my bladder specialist told me to do was to make sure I went to the bathroom once ever 2-3 hours.

Kegels will help with control as well.
