Is Ignorance Bliss?

Do you really feel better if you don't know any better? If you don't know what shenanigans are going on that will affect you? Is happiness for the masses just a matter of keeping people

Is happiness for the masses just a matter of keeping people uneducated, bored, apathetic and in the dark with distractions?

Ignorance has very little to with education. Its being aware of our existence and place in life. Knowing where we have been and where we are going.

Depends on who you ask. To me, it just means that the truth will hit you like a ton of bricks.

Ignorance is bliss, the smarter you are, the more likely you are to be dissatisfied and suffer from things like depression.

How would you know that you were ignorant of something?

How about being ignorant and still miserable?

Nah. Ignorance just means you don't know any better. As for bliss, it only means you haven't figured out your wifey is a 'ho.

Very much so. Unless someone comes to me directly and says this is the deal or this is what is happening then its none of my business and i don't care to probe to find out for myself.

This is true! Some of the most highly educated people I have encountered (often with masters degrees and Ph.D.'s) are the most ignorant of things that would fall into the category of common sense.

Don't you hate it when that happens.

That's true. The more I learn about the ways of the world especially socio-politically and economically the more outraged I often become. I wouldnt say I feel dissatisfied so much as insignificant. What good is it for me to reduce my carbon footprint by 1/3 if no one else does? I'm not a billionaire there is only so much I can do to Save Darfur. Tilting at the windmills of progress like Don Quixote is depressing.

When Two Girls and a Cup is involved, ignorance is bliss, and then some.

Ignorance is bliss to the individual, can be dangerous to the rest of us around that individual though.
