IF you took that red star, Betelguese, and put it where our sun is, its outer edge would encompass the planet Jupiter. You can see Jupiter tonight if you look to the south/southeast (depending where in the world you are though). You can tell a planet because it does not "twinkle" or "blink", it's light is steadfast and strong. Look at Jupiter, and recognize that the sun is still 93 million miles in the opposite direction, and Betelguese would swallow us and everything out to the point of light that is jupiter.

I saw one of these that said that the "Red Supergiant star" is billions of times bigger than out sun.

If I ever find myself getting caught up in the general everyday stress of life, I find that looking into a clear night sky puts an immediate perspective on just how tiny and insignificant this planet is, let alone my little problems.
