They make you orange, not tan. Look at the primary ingredient. It's an overdoes of beta carotene, carotene=carrots=orange.

I found it odd as a kid that this once clearly racist nation was so obsessed with "tanning".

Does it make any sense to you?

Those damned caratinoids. They aren't so bad if you already have a good base tan. woogexx, if those pills are canthaxanthin then they are nothing revolutionary -- they have been around for decades.

I once used them years ago, thought I would be smart and increase the dose, ended up like I had orange foundation on my skin even the palms of my hands turned orange. Once this has happend there is nothing you can do about it, until your body disposes it naturally, which can take a few days. In the mean time you look and feel like a real prat. Oh and one other thing, which has not been mentioned, don't be alarmed when you peer down the loo and find your stools have turned PINK....!!!!

Hope this helps

Interesting that the labelling and the website would lead you to believe that tyrosine is the main ingredient; it is, in fact, the smallest portion.

Tyrosine has many metabolic functions, including precursor to melanin, the natural skin pigment. But since it's only in trace amounts (less than the copper content, and copper is only tolerable in trace amounts. More than that, and copper is toxic.)

Since the beta-carotene is the primary ingredient, you can rest assured that it will turn you carrot-orange, including your skin, eyes, and fingernails (it will have the same effect on your hair, but that may or may not be apparent, depending on your natural color.)

Yes it makes sense, tanning does not change your ethnicity. Tanning gives a nice soft warm glow to the skin. Some people over do it, and some get so dark that you don't know if they are white or black. Some others want to grow up to be Leather Face.
