Actually, it was throat cancer which finally took The No Longer So Dapper Don out. Convicted on several charges in the early 1990s, he was shipped off to Marion Illinois-a Federal joint and died nearly 10 years later in Springfield Illinois.
Gotti had an extensive criminal history with arrests and prison terms dating back to the late 1950s.
