A Ban on Ugliness

There is an oline dating service that you might have hear of that attempts to weed out unattractive members. Only beautiful people are allowed to join BeautifulPeople Network.

Prospective members must submit a photo and profile; other members of the opposite sex (yes, they weed out them too) rate the person over a 72-hour period--deciding whether they are worthy of joining the community.

I wonder if this is as shallow as it appears. I mean, MENSA has a fairly exclusionary membership. Shouldn't all private groups be allowed to define their membership? I took a quick gander at their website. Not that impressed. Yes the people are attractive but not overwhelmingly so. They are all young. I'm sure that some people would find Greg Hodge, the managing director of Beautiful People.com, to be ugly.

This seems to be more of a social networking site designed to stroke the ego, rather than find someone a date. This site could accomplish one thing: get all the stupid... errr... beautiful people to interbreed, eventually rendering them unable use the Internet and ending this idiocy.

I wonder how long it will be before someone sues this website for not being admitted, claiming mental anguish. 9 out of 10 people are rejected.

I can ONLY imagine the fraud that goes on there.

I suppose the one flaw I see here is that this is only based on one specific type of beauty, the stereotypical traditional beauty, which is only considered 'beautiful' to a certain type of person.

However on the flip side of this, I suppose there are websites for overweight people, christians, jewish people, black people, all kinds of people so it's nothing new. It's just the voting that gets me.

Ive heard about this site before. I don't blame them, or envy them, and they are all more "beautiful" than me (at least until I am making 100 G's a year). But a lot of them are mere 8's.

After more poking around, some of them women are beautiful, in that overtanned, overstretched over-botoxed, plastic chest and lips porn starlet sort of way.

It is my gut reaction to hate them, and that's because they are beautiful.

Yes, Ive spotted a few out of control ego's round these parts too but this particular website sounds like a flytrap for the worst of the worst. Find out where their next meet up is & drop a bomb, please.
