If you don't know where to start a new paragraph, just start it every 4th or 5th sentence. People have busted others for spelling or grammar errors, but never for starting a paragraph at the wrong place.

Also, if you did not take a typing class. You need to put a space after every period.Otherwise it looks dumb. (e.g.) Also put a space after a comma, like this.
Paragraphs run to different lengths. Sometimes a paragraph can extend to just about a full page in a book-sometimes it does and sometimes it even extends beyond a page. The same can hold true here in cyberland-it all depends when a full and cohesive thought pattern has ended.

The difficulty of just starting a new paragraph after every 4th or 5th sentence is that it can lead to an idea being broken into separate parts needlessly and with the second or third part of a thought or idea being merged with an unrelated idea-not good.

...and I believe it is two spaces after a period (.), question mark (?) or exclamation point (!). The one space is after a comma (,) or semi-colon (;). Would anyone care to take a guess at the spaces after a colon (:)?

Is it normal to have to hit enter twice to get a new paragraph to start. Usually if I only hit enter once it combines the text into one paragraph. Anyone else have this.

One of my pet peeves is that sometimes people not only make one paragraph but never use a Capital letter while there typing. I am sorta guilty of this myself while typing faster then my mind works. And lately I sometimes subconsciously type entirely the wrong word. This is why you see my posts edited so much I even miss it on the proof read.

can someone tell me how to get rid of that big blank space thats left under my post. I see a lot of peoples posts are that way.

I take it that MEM isn't a great fan of Henry James? More's the pity.

A few more things Mem-

Should I indent when I start each paragraph? Bold face the first letter of each paragraph?

Double space? Speaking of which, how many spaces should there be from one paragraph to the next?

Must I use the italics for certain words?

And quotes-do I use them like this 'Henry was not amused' or like this
"Henry was not amused"?

Please get back to me on this A.S.A.P.

God bless you for reminding me. Any grammar specialists, please correct this punctuation if it needs to be corrected. This is how I always write.

She asked him "How was your dinner?"
or
She asked him "How was your dinner"?

AND

"How old is your dog?"
or
How old is your dog"?

Whether if the entire question is in quotation marks or just a part of the sentence, is the rule the same?

I know the sentences aren't put together well, but which of these is correct?
