I've tried facebook and friends reunited etc, can't find him anywhere. It is really sad, I'd absolutely love to know what he's been upto and have him meet my daughter etc.

You should try checking with your graduating class. What's the president and VP of the classes called. That committee might have some contact information for your friend for upcoming reunions and events and such. Someone might have the right info to put you two back in touch. Google his name every now and then. You'd be surprised who you find on the Internet doing what. Good luck, don't give up. Good friends are hard to come by.

This was just junior school there were no Presidents and Vice Presidents. I should try his secondary school (we went to different schools from age 11).

yeah, i know. i was just playin' with marley. we're all cool.

An older friend (30s, straight), found out I was bi through a forum posting. We still continue to occasionally talk the same way we did before (politics, business, women, porn etc etc), except he makes the occasional joke about me hitting on him (which I never have and never will).

He said he's personally turned off by gay sex, but that he doesn't judge people if that's what they want; regardless of if he likes it or not, people will still do it and it won't affect his life anyways.

Though I will admit that I still have a bit of humility when talking to him.

It happened to me once, I'd even shared a bed with him a couple times in high school (for sleeping only mind you) during sleep overs. I didn't really care when he came out, it didn't bother me any but afterward he only seemed interested in hanging out with gays I guess he didn't want a straight friend. I haven't talked to him in years

I don't see why ANYbody would be offended if their friend told them they where gay.
If you were his an didn't notice/never thought about it why would it change because of more honesty.

To the first question, unfortunately, many parents, friends, and loved ones to literally and figuratively disown their gay son/friend/nephrew/etc.. Some are cut out of wills, some are denied access to their children, etc..

To the second statement: homophobes and people with misconceptions about homosexuality.

i would totally accept him. plus, if they reveal it to me, then i could reveal my bisexuality to them. it'd be a nice thing for us to both have, and i guess if he ever had any problems that i'd reveal his secret, he would also know mine. i wouldn't have any problem with it at all, and then i'd hope he could talk to me about any problems or struggles he's having with being gay.

i guess i like it when people reveal their secrets to me. it tells me that they trust me and feel that they could share something so personal and intimate with me. it deepens a friendship on a whole other level.
