put on strong man competition on tv... very few are "ripped" their muscles are for function, not looks, one example of both though is marius pudginowski , not an ounce of fat on him, abs on top of abs, ridiculous, like 6'1 300 pounds, but if you look at him from the side, when hes not flexing his abs, his abs stick out easily 3"+ past his chest, but when he breathes heavy or flexes, they suck in an inch or so into a ripped 6-8 pack but still stick out past his chest/ribs... does that make him fat? maybe you should stay in the political threads with your witty little one liners..
Very few of the people in question are built like these guys pulling mack trucks on foot. On the surface, they may look the same, but underneath they're vastly different. The guys in question may have a good bit of muscle mass, but there's also a significant amount of fat over it.
As for the strong man competitors, they don't look ripped, but you can tell they're muscular because it's more of a solid mass. Their stomachs don't compress, as fat would, when they're carrying the boulder.

I have two older dudes, in their late 30's, who constantly feel the need to comment on my body when I'm working out. I'm on the lean side, and they feel it appropriate to tell me I don't need to be there, I'm taking time away from people who genuinely need to use the machines or weights to get in better shape. Then there's the constant touching that follows the comments. Grabbing at my arms or trying to rub my abs. I've had to tell them several times to leave me alone, but invariably, when I get there it starts all over again.
I've even gone as far as to change my workout days or times to avoid these two morons.
One guy followed me into the showers, and took the stall across from mine. He kept staring and made it very obvious that he had a hard on.
I'm really getting tired of their b.s.

Believe it or not...it's actually much easier to deal with people who clearly cross the line (as in your post) than it is with people who constantly walk the fine line, without ever crossing it...

Yeah lol..YOU get a clue! A fat ass lifting weights constantly is NEVER going to lose any significant weight without some sort of intense cardio, no matter how hard they are lifting weights. And my point was these fat asses aren't sweating lifting weigts either....but they damn sure can push that 300 pounds from the bench a few times.

Fat people, or old people, or people who don't have an ideal body, have as much right to use the gym as anyone else. Their money is just as good as yours. If your aesthetic senses are offended by the sight of them then go someplace else.

Let's go back to number one in this series: the prissy queen who bitches about fat people who don't go to the gym to try to get in shape, then bitches about the fat people go to the gym to try to get in shape.

Honestly, is it your personal mission to critique everyone at the gym, or are you there for your own health? Or would you prefer that all the people whom you find unattractive just be exterminated, so that seeing them in the gym, on the street, or at a restaurant, doesn't annoy and offend you? You really come across as a self-absorbed jerk.

Well put, DC. When I first started working out I was really self-conscious, and I know that a lot of people that I'm trying to get to start working out simply feel too worried that others will look on them with a critical eye.

pdxman's attitude is disgusting

Well, it just sounded to me like the "good church people" who don't want those awful sinners coming in to their church. Uh, gyms and churches aren't for those who are already perfect, right? They are for those who want to better themselves...

It's like those Bud Light radio and TV commercials with a total gym focus...

I'd bet a hundred bucks you don't have the testicular fortitude to walk up to one of those so-called "fat asses" to say that. I'm a big guy and I lost fat by lifting. Then again, you seem to be the jealous type who wishes he could put 300 pounds on a bar and not look like a fool.

How about the Guy who stands in front of the mirror spending 20 mins rearranging his hair and package, bends down and roars loudly as he picks up the weights to ensure that all eyes on the gym are on him and proceeds to count his reps in a loud clear voice.
Having finished his set, feels the need to strike a bodybuilders pose in the mirror just to show everyone how pumped he is.

Are you working out in prison? I've never heard of anything like that. Tell management and say if they don't do something about it, throw around words like, assault, harassment and lawsuit.
