| | | Marley, sorry to hear you have such pain with bathing. Have you considered making something to help expand your preputial opening? You know, how the women do their lips in that one African tribe? I've seen a high definition special about them several times called Black Samurai. The dudes to a man are genitally intact (and for the most part, tall, hung and well-built.) | | | |

Notice that this is NOT a thread to argue about circumcision, but simply for people to share their real-world experience. Semantics, ethics etc are non-sequitors in this topic! | 1)Cost? I have no idea, it was slopped in with bone repairs, physical rehab and many other costs. My circumcision was covered as medically necessary and Aetna footed the bill (except for my deductables and percentages). It has been 20 years now and I no longer have copies of those bills, sorry.
2)It was done in a hospital and I was 28 years old.
3)I didn't have to make an appointment as I was on the gurney at the time it was decided and I was sufficiently medicated so as to feel no shame.
4)No payment for an exam since it was all part of a package deal with the other procedures.
I am aware that my circumcision circumstances (circ circs ) were not run-of-the-mill; however...
In the monthes following the medical procedures, the circumcision was placed on a seperate tab. There was a specialist for it and for whatever reason, Aetna, which covered my circumcision, did not cover the followup. Again, I do not recall costs from that time since:
A)I was near broke financially at the time and ignored the bills until the collectors threatened to freeze my bank accounts, at which point I loaded them onto 2 credit cards, one of which I later defaulted on.
B)I was heavily medicated for several monthes so most medical matters didn't matter to me as long as Aetna was willing to pay for my happy pills.

| | | Sorry if I haven't read it somewhere else if you've already posted it, but The Greek Dude, if you are considering a circumcision, could you say why?
Again sorry if you've already gone over that. If you have just ignore me

| | | A friend of mine had this procedure done about a year ago in a local doctors office. The cost was $200.00 out of pocket. A newborn relative had this procedure done a day or two after birth. Insurance did not cover it. I hope this helps. | | | |

That's kind of what I get for asking you people, though. | You ignored posts 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, and 15, call me an instigator, and then call me an argumentative prick for posting this: Quote:

| That's what I hear some people say, but then I hear about people paying upwards of $2,500 to have it done in a hospital under general anesthesia, or that a private urologist charges anywhere from $400-900 dollars. . .i'm confused, so i'm trying to gather as much real-world information as possible.
Thanks for actually telling me a cost, though. Where do you live, btw?

| | | Phoenix, AZ. If you have a PCP, ask him or her. If not, check with a Dr. that is a general surgeon in your area. Based on what I have heard, and I do not have documented sources to credit that information, just third party; however, as I said, my friend paid $200.00 for the procedure. Perhaps you might google the internet and type in "cost for adult circumcision." I was born in a military hospital, so in a way, there was no choice "at the time." I pondered the idea of "restoration," but happy the way I am. Good luck and take care dude! | | | |

And then, of course, the people saying "DON'T DO IT!! I'M IN THE PROCESS OF RESTORING MY FORESKIN!!!"
