Gallery Comments - Yay or Nay?

And I do mean the comments. Of course I could delete the pic and then re-upload it but its a hassle and I don't see why I should bother for one rotten apple

Also it does seem strange...for one that his username is circumcised spelt wrong and second that he is supposedly from Cornwall which is in the UK. I reckon he's someone who was cut at birth and is jealous of uncut guys. He would be in a minority in the UK as most guys are uncut.

I am with Bbucko. It is a sad tale of a sorry soul when someone can think of nothing better to do than to leave negative comments on other people's pictures.

I personally only leave a comment if I like what I see. Why comment otherwise unless you enjoy putting out negative energy. All that bad karma just comes back on you anyway.

There are always going to be haters...I agree with Bbucko--it is more of a reflection on the person who left the comment than you. Same thing goes with the ratings. Why would someone give a 1 rating other than the fact that they are a total hater.

When some friends and I started our blog The Spin Cycle three years ago, we decided that the only comments we'd delete were:

*Spam
*Links to Kiddie Porn
*Giving the real names, addresses or phone numbers of the bloggers or commentariat.

We had an infraction of the third rule and were forced to moderate comments for about a year. But I personally approved some vile, hateful bullshit and posted it without censorship.

Of course, that doesn't mean that we didn't engage in the type of flame-wars that would result in permanent bannings from a message board.

Some people live to put down others, it some how makes them some how feel superior. As far as being able to delete, I vote yay.

I'm considering myself lucky. Only one person said something negative about my pics to the extent of me having a small penis just off of a face pic. At first I was a little offended (no pun intended), but after seeing how very few posts he has and the fact that he has absolutely no pics of his own on this board I quickly got over that.

Just out of consideration for those who contribute to this board, they should have the option to delete comments on their own threads. That way, people who are sensitive to those kinds of things can deal with it.

I think we should be able to remove comments yes.

Deleting comments would be sensible in view of the fact that the user can delete a pic; which deletes all of the comments anyway. I'll guess it's a technical matter [vbulletin?] rather than policy.

I wish some comments posted in threads could be deleted, there are alot of nasty cruel entries on some of these boards, some of which are totally not needed.
