hiding your age

"Old people are the enemy. So they hide their age." - HaagenDazs, I hope you get to my age (62) and have something to look back on! I don't hide my age, because it is irrelevant to others that I will never meet.

I was 19 once - knew it all, and every thing was either black or white - now I am 'old' I realise that I actually know very little in the grand scheme of things, and that there are vast areas of grey between the black and the white.

I have just noticed that my age is not displayed - I shall change this immediately!

I'm genuinely 34... but from my next birthday I think I might just freeze my age for a couple of years lol

I display my age. Nothing to hide there. My body measurements have really improved over the last twenty years. Not many late 30/early 40 guys can say that.

it goes both ways though.. example, from the other night,

Me: so how old are you?
- "19m, you?
Me: 27
- Chat session closed, user has exited.

oh well..

There's a lot more to life than asl. If folks are so willing to so forthright their lives with strangers, then we could add income, IQ, height/weight...I mean, if you don't have anything to hide..then why not share more things than just asl? Surely those are all as important factors - if not more so - than age and sexual orientation.

I think it may be a combination of many of the things listed. I do not necessarily want to be recognized but also there are things that I just chose to keep private but that is me. I tend to be that way with many things in my life. Those who know me or need to know find out the real deal.

As I reach 32 - heading to 33 soon - I noticed I'm at least 15% grey already. My Biological father was 100% grey by 40 - and you know what? I think I'm begnining to look distinguished! Bout time my age and my looks are close!

Even if I looked 10 years younger - I'd still claim my current age. With age comes wisdom - and experience. I dated an 18 yo about 4 years ago (for 6 months) - and you know - I"d rather date someone my age - and luckily - I am....though I'm the Older Man by 6 months...lol

i think some people may hide their age because they want to be able to talk to all members and not be judged by the years under their belt.

i personally don't have an issue letting others know my age, which is 22. most of the time no one can ever guess how old i am anyway. i tend to get mistaken for late 20s to early 30s a lot, which isn't a bad thing.

I never hide my age.
