One big Blast from the past...

Any Brits catch Yazoo (vince Clark and Alison Moyet) on J Ross the other night? Alison still has an awesome voice, made me feel 20 years younger!! One of the best tunes of the 80's.

is part of a discussion in the Et Cetera, Et Cetera forum that includes topics on Off-topic postings, current events, rants and raves....

It's a shame we don't hear more of Alison.

I'm a huge Alison Moyet fan. I LOVE her version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. Here in the States they called them "Yaz"... not quite sure why.

Were they big in the states too in the 80's? That's cool!

Where the heck have I been? I never even heard of her. You fixed that, though. After this, I am a fan.

Alison Moyet is amazing - as far as I know she kept up her career, recording on and off, but she suffers terribly from agoraphobia and depression, which has made it all the harder.

Glad to see her back and performing.

(An article from last year for anyone who wants to read it.)

Ohhh, that takes me back to my University years. I'm a big fan of Vince and Alison... from early Depeche Mode, to Yaz, to Alison solo, to The Assembly, and to Erasure. I think both of them are underrated. If I recall, there was already a Yazoo in North America so the name had to modify to Yaz over here.

On another site my profile name is Love Resurrection.

I too, love Alison's rendition of "The First Time...", it's hauntingly amazing and gives me chills everytime!
