In my experience most insurance plans won't cover the procedure as it's cosmetic. However, that's not to say this has never happened and if it has other negative "health" consequences (though I think having to deal with gynecomastia is bad enough) then insurance may cover it. I'd definitely talk to your plastic surgeon about it. He may be able to convince the insurance co otherwise. I had money saved up so I paid for it out of pocket.
Another piece of advice: Make sure your have lipo AND a glandular excision done. Everyone I've talked to who has gone the lipo only route has been very disappointed with the results. I had glandular excision and lipo and was very pleased with the results.
