Man Gets Ticket for Wearing a Speedo

WLTX-TV News, Weather, Sports for Columbia and the Midlands of South Carolina

Bonita Springs, FL (WINK) - A Bonita Springs, Florida man is about to file a civil suit against the Lee County, Florida Sheriff's Office after getting kicked off the beach for wearing a skimpy swimsuit.

Bob Hezzelwood, better known as "Beach Bob", says he has been sitting just south of Bonita Beach in Collier County for years.

This was the topic in another thread though it didn't mention the deputy involved wasn't even his jurisdiction when the ticket was issued.

Florida's legal system is a joke.

Florida is a joke.

Election system is entirely broken. The legal system is in shambles. And the housing market is tanking like never before. Just wait, soon another hurricane will level the place.

Such priggishness is but a symptom of a backlash to the sexual revolution that "Christians™" have forced down everyone's throats. What else would you expect from the "Hillbilly Riviera?"

Oh and they need to get over themselves. In state parks in California there is always a section of beach reserved for nudists. And they don't get hassled at all. They don't even bother with speedos!

Indeed.

Not only was Hezzelwood charged with the incorrect crime

Not only was Hezzelwood properly attired according to community standards

Not only did the deputy involved not have any jurisdiction to issue his citation as he was in a county outside of his own...

but...

Basically, fly to Orlando. Go straight to Disneyworld. Leave Disneyworld. Go straight to the airport and home. No matter what, do not leave the Orlando theme parks unless it's on the way to an airport.

Down that far it's not quite as hillbilly usually, although this may be an example of the way it's going by now. The true 'redneck Riviera' is from Mobile Gulf Shores all along the northwest Florida coast, centered on Panama City. I spent a lot of time there as a child.

These reports help me, as I tend to want to be somewhat exhibionistic at beaches, and I have a hard time remembering that I could get in serious trouble if I don't curb some of this.

The Bonita Springs area is full of rich people. I don't know if that's where Naples is, but they're all loaded down that way. Weird thing is that the beaches on the real Redneck Riviera are the most perfect white-sand ones in the U.S. There are others in Thailand and in Polynesia, but the usual kind is beige or light tan as on the Atlantic and CA coast and also the Mediterranean.
