Yes, as I had noted in slightly different form previously. This is very common, this combination which pretends one thing while obviously also claiming another which is in slight contradiction. You definitely see it in these forums newly administered on a daily basis in the OP's. The most insidious aspect of this is that you cannot really argue it out of the way just because you did then perceive it. That's why the Fox tie-in is good, they simply hide in plain sight, proclaim black is white (not referring to the racism subtexts that are blinking all over the place in every context in the politics now), and the usual rot.

Also, that race was between a popular Californian's VP and Dukakis.
OK, you got me there. Dukakis did suck.

I agree. The reality is that Clinton's and Obama's policies are more similar than they are different. While the policies of both are a sea change away from McCain's. I think Hillary's supporters saying they will vote for McCain over Obama is a result of her negative campaigning and the talking points her followers have swallowed about Obama. While Hillary has campaigned like she is a Republican, her policies are not. To hear her people say they would rather harm the party (and I believe the country) rather than vote for another Democrat seems silly and childish.

However, I don't think all these polls and opinions about Hillary's supporters not being willing to vote for Obama will last into the general election. Something similar happened in the 2000 election with McCain and Bush. Their race was very contentious and McCain's supporters were all saying they wouldn't vote for Bush in the general election. But McCain was not the candidate and guess what? His supporters who had been bitching and moaning about Bush ended up voting for him in the general election. Emotions run high in a close primary. What people are saying right now really has little bearing on how they end up voting in the general election. We'll see what happens after she acknowledges her loss and starts working to build support around Obama.

Hilary can not even tell if she is getting off a plane and shots are being fired. In other words she just right out lied.

a totally fukD racial mess I say. Blacks see their future with Obama, and blindly support him in huge numbers, ignoring Hillarys experience and the fact that a Dem 'Dream Team' could have been formed 4 months ago, building strength by now. Instead, they continue to blame each other, and let McCain get off with no competition. Obama would be the perfect VP, get on the job training and move up to the Pres. in 8 years with luck. But nooo, instead you will get Dem's pissed off who will head for McCain cuz this party seem only able to shoot itself in the foot every 4 years and screw up another good chance at the White House. Besides the fact that you can bet some idiot redneck will be taking a shot at Obama if he gets to the White House. I don't know if they could possibly provide enough protection for the man unless he lives in a bubble car like the Pope travels in. Another sad Nov. ahead, unless some kind of unison appears soon, before the convention for the Dems.

If it were only Blacks voting for Obama then he would never have made it as far as he has. And I keep hearing this about Hillary's experience, but it seems to be just another one of her talking points. You compare the two (Hillary and Obama) as if Hillary has more or better experience than Obama does. She doesn't.

Have you considered the option that people are voting for Obama NOT because they are Black or ignoring Hillary's experience, but because they have actually looked at the issues and HIS experience and feel he is the best person for the job?

cold day in hell before I wil ever vote for john mccain. I used to have alot of respect for him...and seriously considered voting for him in 00......but he has buddied up with the current administration, and is bound and determined to keep us in this war in iraq....and have no doubt in my mind that he will start a war with Iran and/or Syria (his own statements)......the man terrifies me....and is too old and out of touch with the everyday man/woman

Oy, vey!!!! Don't even try to make this a racial issue. If Obama's support was only from Black People, then he wouldn't be leading in the polls now. That is, unless, you think that only Black people vote during primaries or that the largest racial demographic in the US is Black. Either way, that's a BAD assumption.

Not necessarily true. There are some DNC attack ads out on McCain on CNN and other stations.

Before all of the drama, I actually visioned a Clinton/Obama ticket or vice versa. That would have been the best of both worlds. New eyes & visions with experience backing it. Now, after all of the drama between both camps I'm sure it'll never happen.

And that would be a very stupid reason for any disgruntled "Democrat" to vote for McCain.

Well, we can't live on the fear of assassination if Obama does win the Presidency. Although many people do share this same worry. Even Chris Rock jokes about this in one of his standups.

It's already been decided. Hillary lost and is looking for a good time to graciously bow out. Personally, I think she should do it on a high note after she wins West Virginia, which she is expected to win by a wide margin.

I think this is bullshit, if it were 2001, and Obama was so vocal in his objections to the war, would he seriously be considered the next potential president. I think it is cheap that he is using this notion to forward his campaign because 6 years ago, everyone was down for the war. So for Barak to parade that "I was against the war from the beginning" doesn't prove much to me, only that he is an opportunist. I could give a damn about experience and change, what I want to know is who is going to fix these damn gas prices. And in my opinion for Barak to say that Hilary's plan for freezing the gas tax is an unhelpful temporary relief, is crap. The summer months are going to be hell for everyone, and I wouldn't mind a break. He makes it seem that his plans are so much better then Hilary's, when in fact they are nearly the same.

It saddens me that in the future I won't remember this election for the barriers that were broken. I will however remember it for helping me relive my childish high school years.
