I never thought of it in terms of a humiliation theme, but I have recognized that professional porn doesn't do anything for me these days. I'd MUCH rather watch amateur stuff now that there's such an abundance of it available. I get a lot more out of watching two people enjoying themselves than some scripted, emotionless (and yes, often one-sided) fakery. It's kinda odd, actually. Not long ago, the women in porn were the stars and the men were seen as the "stunt dicks." Now it's the women who have become all but interchangeable because the focus has shifted to what the men are doing to them.

Anybody who thinks a woman being used is hot has no idea what loving enthusiasm can add to the equation. Even looking at an established porn star like Tera Patrick, there's no comparing her earlier "acting" with the more recent stuff she's done with her real-life husband.

Extremely well written post that really put into words what I was thinking about when I read this thread. Despite all the chest puffing that goes on with young males, it's really the females that control the behavior. I've seen the most alpha guys around reduced to submissive little puppies by their girlfriends, fucking sad to watch. I guess i treat my husband with enough respect to get the respect back. I never thought of it as a way of "getting back at the woman" for feeling immasculated and inferior.

I have a lot more to think about on this issue, from a completely different perspective now. I guess my mom did raise me right to not see myself as superior to a man, vice versa. I have a more traditional relationship with my husband in many ways and in some ways i am a modern woman who works and contributes in non-traditional ways.

I agree with most of what's said here re porn. I happen to like "classical" porn, without whore, slut, bitch, face-cumming, etc.
BUT: don't you think the general attitude is spilling over from hard-core rap, with " Bitch, whore, " and the so-called big boyz ina hood attitude?
Maybe it is habituating younger people, and current porn is a reflection of how society is right now? And rap in it's turn is reflecting that? One messy circle.

I could cry because i just created a huge response and accidentally deleted it. Shit that pisses me off.

Let me sum up my response:

My own ass has germs, i cant deny that fact, im not going to put a huge colony of bacteria in my mouth and take a chance of tossing my cookies for 3 days.

Porn is getting so ridiculous even i, the great visually stimulated sexual person that i am, am getting fed up with it. Don't get me wrong... I meet a lot of really fantastic "post-feminist" women who have not succumbed to the prevailing cultural negativity toward everything male...

They are generally more intelligent and more self realized than the kind of women who do succumb to it...
And on a deep level... far more attractive.



But I do not blame the women... its become the cultural assumption. I meet plenty of men who honestly believe in the "man bad/woman good" theory of humanity. The media has embraced it as default truth... its the core of political correctness...

Its not something women are doing to men.... its something our culture is doing to BOTH women and men.

Actually... I think this attitude in Rap is simply another reflection of male anger toward female control.

Rap personas are a fantasy... the reality of being a black male in America, for most black males, is to suffer mistreatment and disrespect from women.

Rap stars have tapped into this huge subsurface rage toward women, and fantasies of being the dominant gangsta hood...

Like all fanstsies... they reflect the opposite of reality.

Gangsta rap stars living large surrounded by lots of young hoes to humiliate are largely the same as the white suburban fantasy of Hugh Hefner living in the mansions surrounded by blond bimbos....

Something that is not gonna ever happen for the vast majority of men.

With one significant difference...
Both are fantasies of dominance and power...
however... Hugh's 1970's fantasy was happy and compliant, fun loving girls who get to live like princesses....

Whereas today's rap fantasy is suffused with violence and dislike for women as people.

Madame R, thanks for your post and I agree with what you wrote. I find some straight porn to be insanely misogynistic, but this doesn't really surprise me because many men are misogynistic. I'm sure I'll get attacked for this, but when I hang out with straight guys, and no women are around, the guys say the worst, meanest, cruelest things about women. And you wonder how they can say they love them? Many straight men seem to have that "virgin" and the "whore" attitude. The virgins are their mothers and wives. All other women are "whores", especially sexually active ones. These men take the mind-set that the women are deserving of every bit of disrespect because a true lady would never put herself in those sexual situations. So these men, dream of these women and they hate these women. The mentality is insane to comprehend but it's very real and very common. And porn is the one area in public that it's acceptable to express this desire and hatred of women's sexuality.

Sometimes I think if women really knew what guys thought about, they would never go near them--they'd be better off being lesbians.

this behavior isn't relegated to straight men, gay men can be just as selfish, self-serving and crude with their sexuality. how many threads in this forum praise fondling, sucking, etc... Marley, I disagree, there is a difference. I wasn't saying that all straight men are bad and gay men are good. Pointing to the bad acts of gay men takes what I said and distorts it to prove a point of yours, not mine. The difference is that some straight men, from what I've observed, speak of women with anger and venom, especially when it comes to sexuality--and this gets played out in straight porn. This discussion is about the growing prevalence of misogyny in porn and I was sharing that from what I've observed, it mirrors how many men feel about women when women aren't around. What you brought up belongs in the thread where it originated I think, it only serves to take this discussion in another direction.
