Women make demands because they feel men owe them something.
Your statement makes clear that some women don't feel they owe men anything at all.
THAT is the inequity in a nutshell, right there.
BTW... don't imagine I am suggesting that men would not take advantage of a power they had over women.
Rock stars with hot tubs fulla bimbos are proof that, when men
can wield power over women, they will do so just as self centeredly, if not more so.
The Feminist movement was partly a response to the society of the 50s and early 60s in which Men had far more power than ever before. (well represented in the TV series Mad Men)
There is no doubt the men took advantage.
And I would never advocate going back to that inequitable arrangement.
But in today' world, I find the shoe entirely on the other foot with women imagining they are better than men, and pressing their demands and, like yourself, unwilling to allow men any expectations in return.
I would simply like to see the advent of an era where we ALL took less advantage of each other... where both genders' perspectives carried equal value and respect.
I meet people from time to time who have managed to find this balance... Men and women with wonderful relationships... but most fall short.
Still... it requires the hardest thing for any of us, man or woman, to do... it requires that we recognize our own failings in the treatment of others.
