And the problem with predators is that that exist somewhere. They are all over this site. At least that is what some here are reporting. But the mod board doesn't get many reports about predators with names. Sometimes a member will make the suggestion on the public board, but we rarely get a report that a certain individual is a predator.
According to the research I have read in the past, much of it as a professional teacher and church worker with youth, pedophiles have a lust for children who have not yet begun puberty. The only way to reduce the lust that they have is to separate them from pre puberty children. We can't really do that until they have been convicted of a crime of being a child predator of some kind.
I've been reading with interest the poster I am quoting among others about child predators and the LPSG. With the name penis in the logo, I'm sure some of them click on here. But these people's lust for children is increased the most by the predators actually having interaction with children. That is not happening here, unless we have a child that has past himself off as an adult. I'm sure that some of those family movies with the cute little boy as the star like Home Alone gets those pedophiles going as well. I'm sure that those innocent movies are arousing more pedophiles than reading stuff here at the LPSG. So we ban all movies with sweet cut children in them? Then we find a child predator who likes children who are not so "cute."
So we have a poster or two that are going from thread to thread basically accusing some of our members of being pedophiles and even worse predators. The insinuation is that the thread starters and all who post are likely candidates to be child predators. From some of the answers I've read here, I suspect creative fantasies more than adults preying on children.
I'm quite sure that there are pedophiles here. According to what I have read, most pedophiles are straight when it comes to adult sex even if they like boys, but not girls as pedophiles. Why that is so, I have no clue. That is just what the professionals have written. Some pedophiles I'm sure are here to satisfy their lusts in adult sex.
I'm quite sure that the Internet with foreign sites as well as domestic sights has lots of places with child porn fiction that does not include any pictures. It is more tricky shutting down a site with only stories then it is to shut down a child porn site with pictures or links with pictures or a place for predators to exchange pics, addresses and the like.
While I see this poster's point, people tend to gravitate to the pasture with the greenest grass. There just isn't that much here concerning sex with children. I would think pedophiles would look for a site that isn't geared to the discussion of an ADULT PENIS.
I understand that you were molested and that makes you gun shy about any mention of children and the word sex in the same breath.
As a child, I had no idea that the penis was sexual. I didn't even know what being sexual was about.
My biggest concern as a mod is that we don't have links hidden in posts in some way that escapes people's attention or at least long enough that too many predators have found the site.
The mods have been chastised by several members over our strict policy of not allowing pictures of private children posted here, even if it is a Sunday School picture. Pictures of fully clothed children that don't appear erotic that are published in the main family magazines are still questionable.
We don't allow sexual stories involving children to be written in such a way as to be erotic to a pedophile that might be reading the post.
However, a poster writing about the horrors of being raped at age 8 is not an erotic story. Or least I would hope it wouldn't be to anyone. If it is they are sick, very sick.
Our society is getting so bi polar about sex here in America. My opinion is that it is going to eventually go one way or the other and when it does it will be too far I'm sure.
On the one hand, children are required by their parents to dress is very sexual clothing. They are exposed to very erotic sexual story lines on TV and in the movies. The children see adults going ape over a child star on family TV and magazines.
At the same time, on one on one relationships with real people, we are trying to act as if sex and sexual organs are something that were dropped from a turnip tree at age 12. The boys didn't even know the penis was there until the morning of their 12th birthday and that night they came for the first time. Growth and development doesn't work that way. And relationships between adults and children are that puritanical either.
Certainly children are aware of sexuality before they reach puberty. That doesn't excuse adults for trying to engage in sexual acts with children. That is inexcusable.
But I am finding that a small group are finding every thread that so much as mentions children here as being written and all the responses coming from pedophiles and/ or child predators. Or that all these threads are being used to increase the number of children who are molested.
I have a hard time believing that there is a pedophile who would have never ever considered molesting a child, that logged on one day and read this thread and presto, they went out an molested a child as a result of reading this or any other thread here.
There is just too much out there far more enticing to pedophiles that the LPSG for the LPSG to be the main reason they lost control of their sexual appetites and started molesting children.
This keeps coming up over and over. One day a real thread that has problems in it that could affect a child will come along and if we aren't careful we all will have turned a deaf ear to those that cry wolf every day about a thread here and won't even investigate it until that thread or post has been allowed to remain here far longer than it normally would have.
I have some issues from childhood. It isn't child molestation. But I do understand how gun shy it makes an adult for life. I am that way about some other issues from my childhood. Emotional abuse for one that leave major scars and cause me to sometimes over react about some issues. I recognize this and still I react the same way.
So I do have some empathy with those who have been molested as children by an adult. Any thread that mentions children and sex is going to be a painful reminder of the past. For those members who never witnessed or endured child molestation that same very thread will not even so much as raise an eyebrow.
There are some things that it is better if I don't read unless I am ready to relive some of my past and I almost always over react with me being the one who is hurt the most.
Self image was another childhood issue for me. But that self image was caused by what other children said and worse what was said to me as a child that I will never forget.
I would think that child emotional abuse and physical abuse would have the same kind of residual affect as sexual abuse, but I don't know. Those who were molested as children will have to answer that question.
As a professional teacher who has been known as a major supporter of rights of children as opposed to just prevlidges for children I was offended that anyone would even wonder that I might be a child predator. Yet that is what was insinuated on another thread. I was a popular teacher who was never accused of any thing remotely improper. I never was accused of doing anything improper during my teaching career. I taught sixth grade sexuality to the sixth grade boys and never once did I ever have a complaint of any kind. We did get permission slips. There was a child or two whose parents chose for their children to miss those lessons. There were more girls than boys. I can't remember but one boy, but there may have been more.
Some of you need to consider chilling just a little about this when even you agree that in itself a particular thread or post is very innocent to non pedophiles. We can't write every thing without doing a thorough research on what effect it might have on some deviant within our society, Our members don't like the insinuation that they might be pedophiles when there isn't any concrete evidence to support such a claim.
If a pedophile is using this site to gather evidence to use in being a child predator, I would think that it wouldn't take long before they would trip up and reveal themselves or they wouldn't be gathering very much evidence.
