Oh, well. That certainly makes our response much easier. We should send one shipment of medical supplies/food aid and be done with it. Let the rest of the world do their fair share of giving. I don't know why everyone expects the U.S. to dive right in and foot the bill for every disaster that comes along.
We've got plenty of people living right here in this country that could use some assistance.
I don't see many countries rushing to our aid during times of disaster, with the exception of Canada and Mexico; but we're expected to pick up the pieces no matter the cost for countries that Americans are clearly not only reviled, but are in danger when visiting.
Time for the rest of the world community to step up to the plate. |
