And MY point, is that if you "leave it up to her," she's going to want her son circumcised. A lot of men (even cut guys) are saying they don't want to have it done to their son, and their wife insists on it. There's an example of this in "Penn and Teller's Bullshit!: Circumcision."

I can share our story. When we found out we were pregnant with our first kid my husband mentioned that he was against circumcision. I told him that I'd read the word in a few books, but really did not know what it meant. As soon as he explained that it is a surgery done to newborn boys to amputate part of their normal penis I was outraged. That's all the info I needed to know that our son would certainly not be circumcised. We both focus on the ethical aspect of circumcision. It's beyond me how it's even legal to remove part of another person's normal body. Which brings me to another point, even more important than convincing individual parents not to circumcise is to work on having it made illegal, just like circumcising girls is now illegal.

You can't directly change anybody's mind, or beliefs. All you can do is present evidence and show them what it's really about, and they have to make up their mind themselves. After seeing videos of it being performed, many expecting mothers cry and say they would never do that to their baby, but many of them say they'll have it done when their boy's older, because they insist that they don't want them to be made fun of and that it's cleaner.

I've started working with my state senator (GA) to either repeal the law banning female circumcision (discriminatory) or ban circumcision altogether. One only need look at the track record of Northside Hospital in Atlanta. More than ten gender reassignments after botched circumcisions in the last 12 years (the kids never had a chance).
In addition, I'm asking that if circumcision is still allowed, that the child be allowed to receive compensation from both his parents and those that performed it at the age of 18.
Chances of passing? Nil. Opening some eyes to the issue? Endless

Thanks.Changing the law is a long-term objective of most Intactivists however it's a long way out, in terms of decades not years, I/M/O. I'd like to see it banned sooner but if it's pushed too hard, a backlash might occur.

Aside from the proven effect on reducing transmission of certain STDs... IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE.

As to the OP...

I have a dusky rose colored glans and an olive tan complected shaft... separated by a dark brown band of thin, sensitive scar tissue from the circumcision I had as a baby.

The scar is about the width of the tip of my pinky finger.

Given the color and the contrast separating glans from shaft... I have actually received compliments from women about how attractive it is, coloration-wise.

Its truly not a big deal unless it is malformed, hardened tissue or otherwise interferes with normal operation....


Start early in making a habit of NOT obsessing over it....
otherwise you might turn into one of the dreaded Prepucsies!

There are documented fatalities and an untold number that aren't reported as being caused by R.I.C. The American Cancer Society once estimated that in USA more babies are killed by R.I.C. than penile cancer in adult men!
