Question about urinal etiquette -- gay & str8 peeing next to each other

I always enjoy looking and don't mind if others look at me.

Regardless of if you're gay, straight or whatever, these are the rules:


If you're have to pee and someone's at one of the urinals, you want to space it out so there's one urinal between both of you. I


If there's only one guy using it, go to the furthest urinal possible. If all urinals are currently being used, go to one of the bathroom stalls (preferably the large corner one).

If all urinals and stalls are taken, just hold it.

If you're with a friend/relative and you're both talking before you walk into the bathroom, pee right next to each other and continue the conversation as normal.

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head. It was probably me sending of weird vibes. These are two guys that have been together a long time -- obviously they don't care if they're peeing right next to each other. Me, on the other hand, I was just thrown off by not wanting to offend, like not wanting them to think I was afraid they'd see my dick (I'm not, really).

But everyone's comments have, for the most part, been helpful. I think I just wigged out unnecessarily.

If the restroom was very busy or someone wants to chat with you they would be closer.




I have bouts of pee shyness too, in which case I would head for a stall.

I have trouble peeing when someone's there. I have no trouble whippin' it out, but unless I have to go REALLY bad, I have to wait until they leave before I can start. I've never noticed anybody checking me out before, though. I'm not sure how i'd feel if I caught a guy staring.

I always use the stall, I never use the urinal, I think whether peeing or pooping, one should be ALONE and without an audience!

since youre always supposed to leave a urinal in between and never make eye contact in men's restrooms, I wonder what the proper behavior in women's restrooms consists of (for women--i know guys shouldnt be in women's restrooms)

you should have kept a few urinals distance between you and them. I do understand your sensitivity (wondering what to do, not wanting to come off rude) but it was misplaced. Even gay guys would ordinarily leave some space. You probably just confused them, unintentionally. Still, no harm done.

one urinal left between would have been sufficient to give them the conservative "space" and still be close enough so you aren't shouting across the room. Standing right next to them, as said before, might have conveyed an aspect of closeness that you don't have.

Recently I was in a restaurant (Buffalo Wild Wings) where I was eating wings and drinking beer- and I timed my bathroom break with a new buddy. It was a small bathroom, and there were two urinals on opposite walls, outside of a single stall. We were the only ones in there chatting. As I finished, I turned around and left my schlong displayed for a couple seconds before buttoning up the fly of my jeans. I stared at his eyes the whole time- to see if he would take a peek.

Hell ya he did. All guys do. I think it's what's expected in a guy scene like that- and both of us are slightly drunk. It's all good.

One young guy at work won't face me when showering, he thinks I will judge him because his dick is rather small. We are friends, so I think its funny.

I'm not sure why the original poster thinks that just because his friends are gay that they would be offending by him peeing in his own personal space. Even my bf and I leave a few urinals between ourselves just because that's what guys do. I'm sure they would have not been offended if you left one or 2 urinals between yourself and them.
