| | [quote=widenine;1459828]Locomiax, Reading your post with my U.S. perspective, I have to say that your "pure blood" desire sounds very ugly, old school and rather racist. It doesn't sound like you had that intention when you said it, but be clear that it's not something that you want to say while vacationing in this country. We're weighed down already with our own brand of the same thing.
I thing you missunderstood my post, is not a matter of that what i want is pure blood , AT ALL, please, i dont like hitlers,no more hitlers, if the USA have that problem i dont have it , i am telling in different parts, and that is what i really think, MESTIZO is beautiful and i like it, but most of all, i like PEOPLE, i think it could be one of the reasons why i am bisexual. You make me feel like saying Mestizo is an insult, no, not to me, why? to me is not an insult, is something like any other kind of people. That is why i give the example of the anglosaxons or Asiatics (japanish). If i Speak Spanish and you tell me that i am speaking french, i just would try to make you understand that what i speak is Spanish not French, and with that reasoning i am not saying that french is agly,in fact i speak it and adore it, but i was speaking Spanish, you understand what i mean?, i am just making things clear. Same with this example. But if you want to see something, where there is nothing is your problem, but dont label me as a racist, because i am the oposite and believe me, i am brave enaugh to recognize it, in case of been it.
Sure that we Spaniards, are also a kind of mestizo, and i dont have any problem in recognizing it because is the truth and i tell it in another post , we have jewish, arab, fenician, saxon, celtic, roman blood, but for such a long time... that it produced a kind of homogeneous look, and that is what makes Latinos the average look we have, i insist average (my mother and sister are really blonde and blue eyes and never get tunned even going everyday to beach but they are not the average).
you said: Be very careful with the intense labelling. It usually doesn't feel that great to be called "Ladaco" for example. And whether you know it or not, with all of your latin pride, in the U.S. you Spaniards are, in fact, grouped and llabelled with mestizos and all others who claim an Hispanic ethnicity.
To be proud of the thing you are, gives honour to a man, i am proud of what i am, i am proud of people that are around me and love me (parents, family, friends etc) i am proud of the things i like, and with that proudness, i am not diminishing the value or the pride of other people's backgrounds. If i am proud of being Latin i am not puting down others, to be proud doesn't mean to be better, i am proud of being a good person, but it doesn't make me better than another good person.
I dont know what ladaco means.
Yes i knew that in US they labell us all together, specially when they tell it to me and many other people i know (and a loooooot of times) in wich part of south america is Spain? Believe me, I am not jocking. In LA, an American Lady, told me that the olimpics of Barcelona were in Italy, and she was really argueing that Barcelona was in Italy and meaning it. If i deny it it means that i refuse Italy? come on I adore Italy, but Barcelona is Spain, at least for the moment, i dont know in the future. So my first post in this thread was that i was disapointed everytime that in Spanish TV were sudamericans pretending they are latins and we Spanish ,not, after than we have being "mareando la perdiz" as we say in spain. If you saw in your US TV program sayin all the time LA is mexico, LA is mexico over and over again, you would say, "are people crazy lately in this country?" is just what i meant with my already loooooooooong explanation. |
