Mom or Dad: Being Your Nurse at Age 15?

When I broke an arm and a leg ( car accident). I requested my younger brother to help me. I was 16 he was 14.

Hey, Freddie, the situation was exactly the way you described it. This was back in the '60s. Mothers didn't see their naked teenage sons; do they now? Indeed, as I recall, it was my mother who said my dad would have to help me with my bath.

Definitely dad. Your mom shouldn't see you nude after a certain age. I recently was concerned about a bump on my ballbag and my dad actually checked it out before going to the doctor. He was a medic in the service. Was it weird having my father touch my junk? Not if it is a health thing. I can't imagine being bathed by him, but if it had to be done, then so be it.

You are right. When my youngest son was in his teens, he got some "stuff"on his hands. He thought he had washed it off, but he hadn't got it all. He touched his privates, (going to the restroom I guess) Anyway, it set his penis and ball sac on fire and when he tried to check it out, all he did was expose even more of this genital area to the stuff that was stinging him greatly. I found teh lotion. I asked him if he wanted to put it on. He said no that he was afraid he would make it worse if his hands tuched his genitals. he was in pain and agony and literally begged me to hurry and get some lotion on his genial area. I ahd to rub it all over the penis, testicles and all. No, he did not get an erection, not did I. I was glad that I could help him and that he felt comfortable with me doing that. When the lotion began to start working, he said thanks for taking care of that for me or words to that effect. Neither he nor I have mentioned that episode since then.

Do I see him in the nude often? No. But if it happens as a matter of course as we live our lives in the same house, he is not bothered by it. None of my sons are like some of the young guys who have been led to believe if their fathers see their penis for any reason then somehow that is evil.

I have no daughters. My sons and I do walk around in our boxers or boxer briefs. They will even go outside that way. But none of us walk around nude in the house and we all shut the door when we are taking a bath or using the toilet.

I would have no choice but my mom...my dad lives far away and i have no siblings. I did break my leg when I was 6 but it was ok then.

i would have my mom, sister, or aunt help me get around. my dad and brother would just be too weird about it. when i had surgery last summer my mom was there day in and day out to help me with everything from washing my hair to feeding me meals.

I would pick my mom, I'm not close to my dad. Plus my mom has a great sense of humor so I'm sure it wouldn't be as awkard (even though it would still be awkward).

I've never had to rely on a faimily member to help with basic hygene - the only time I was ill enough not to be able to do it myself I was in intensive care and the nurses did their job, I'm grateful to them.

Had I been in that situation at 15 (or any age post puberty) I would have been cool with either parent helping me. If both were available I suppose Mum would be the default choice, but Dad would be fine too. I remember around age 17 I acquired a scabies infestation (divine retribution for fucking a nurse's boyfriend, I guess) and I had to put lotion on head to toe - I asked dad to help me with the spots I couldn't reach - I don't remember either of us being at all bothered by the fact I was naked.

Also, I have been in the caregiver position with my father - not for long as we don't live in the same country, but a couple of times when he was very ill a while back I had to help him with bathroom stuff, mainly helping him on the toilet. Again, it was not something that would embarass either of us. He's my father - I love him dearly, I'd walk over hot coals for him, wiping his arse is no big deal.

I'd choose my mom... yah it would be embarassing if I got an erection..but it wouldn't be sexual as the reason. Plus my mom is a retired nurse...so I'd much rather have her expertise rather than my fathers backwoods views on medicine or health care. **yah I'm a Bubba... grew up in KY**

*case in point...I fell out of a tree as a child and broke both bones in my forearm and crushed my wrist. My dad saw my arm...swollen and purple and wrist just hanging there and said...ahhh you're ok..just get some ice and you'll be fine in the morning. Luckily my mom was there...looked at my dad and said...you're an idiot. hahaha

Sounds like my dad. He didn't believe my mom when she said I broke my wrist (you couldn't tell by looking at it, but she just knew. Mother's instinct?).

I had a buddy in high school who had a terrible accident (jumping from a cliff into a river) that caused him to be paralyzed from the neck down. Not total paralysis, he couldn't move his legs or toes and he could move his arms a bit, but not his fingers much. He could and often did get erections though.

He told me that he asked the teacher's assistant (who's job it was to change his diaper) to wack him off. He said this because he didn't know who else to ask and she often would see him with an erection. She declined.
