The more important question in my mind is, since when has it been the policy of this site to lock open threads on the request of any single member?
This is the second time it's happened in Etc. in the past few days. It's a radical departure from the historical pattern of moderation / administration of the discussions here, and IMO not in a positive direction at all. | | | |

I must confess, I do not know any of the posters in here, but I am completely addicted to this site-- it is like a soap opera, from what I read. Names and characters may change, but the story line is still the same. Perhaps it is just a reflection of reality and relationships and people in general.

I must say that Mandee has been extremely nice and friendly to me and I cannot insult her at all.
If Mandee goes, I personally will miss her and I know many others will. She had taken a few days off before, presumaby because of the negative comments towards her and perhaps she feels that it is best for her as an individual to leave the site altogether.
It is her choice to leave and if she does not return, she will be greatly missed by a large amount of people (and cows)... | | | |
