Thanks I never expected to get an ego-boost out of this thread. However, as often as I read or hear women say they want to find a good guy, I rarely see them go for them. I think what they mean is they'd like to find a good-looking, confident, financially successful guy who also happens to be a gentleman. Prove me wrong, ladies.

I did look into annulment. Instead of dividing all the assets and debts 50/50, you both just walk away with what's in your name. That would've been very bad for me financially because she held the majority of the assets in her name only. There are also no longer any legal/financial penalties for infidelity (not much of a surprise here in CA).

I'm feeling a lot better about myself, but let's not go as far as someone feeling envious of me or my situation. The feeling of being betrayed and abandoned is not something I'd wish on my worst enemy. No one deserves that pain.

What I'm learning now is that you have to base your confidence on how good you feel about yourself and not so much how others feel about you. My self-worth was shattered by years of rejection. But now I know it wasn't a problem with me but with my wife.

I suspect something awful happened to her before I met her and she hasn't been able to deal with it. It's unfortunate that she chose to ignore and run away from her issues, rather than work on them with me. But I think I'll be a lot better off in the long run.

i don't think that I could deal with being a virgin at my age....I just turned 32 and I admit I like sex but even in the gay world I think guys put too much importance on it...I was calling chatlines and dating guys when I was 14...yeah I love to have sex but it's not what I'm all about......I have always picked the wrong guys to date..... my last boyfriend made me feel stupid and worthless....I would like to find a guy like you bguy.....you do need to have more confidence in yourself, you're cute.....I don't know how managed to stay a virgin...but it's a good thing too with all the disease in the world....

It was only one of many excuses that she gave me and I don't think it was an actual reason. She wouldn't even allow a finger inside her, and I'm certain all of us here know that's not too much. She also said 'what about the Catholic belief that it's wrong to have sex unless you're trying to have a baby?' Um, neither of us is Catholic.
