The single shaft swells up a lot to reveal all 4 heads. The penis is too big to fit inside a female anteater, so only two of the heads enter at a time. The other two heads shut down temporarily. The two active heads ejaculate alternately until done.
Females mate with up to 11 males at a time when they are ready. The males produce very "social" sperm. The sperm are not solitary swimmers, but aggregate into groups of about 100 since groups can travel faster than individual cells.
