Gay Prom

So, I found out the other day that the city I live in is hosting a gay prom. I think it's a great idea for gay and lesbian youth to meet new people, and also have a good time at their prom while allowing them to be completely open about who they are without criticism.

I am 18 years old, and in my last year of high school. I'm seriously considering going to this thing. It sounds like an awesome time.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this anywhere else? And what are some peoples thoughs on this?

Another thing is that I don't know if I should go alone or with friends or find a date.

Do you have someone you would want to take or would you have a better time with friends? Could you ask someone to go, as well as friends?

I guess I would rather go with friends, because then I am open to meet new people.

I think it's a great idea. If I were still in high school i'd totally take my current boyfriend. (We started dating a month ago). I get to take him as my date to my best friend's wedding this summer..So I'll keep you updated on that:P

But yeah, definetly a great idea. It's hard sometimes to act the way you want in public with your boyfriend or girlfriend and when you do sneak a kiss or something every now and then, you have to be very cautious of who is around..sucks but it's true.

I've been to 2, one when I was in high school and one about age 22. Unless you are really serious about wanting to spend the time with someone special, go with friends. Have fun!
