One would think that the gay men on the site (approximately 3/4+ of all members-haha) would have good gaydar, mine's not too bad for a hetero but who knows.

My gaydar for gay men is excellent, except in places in which a significant percentage of the straight men are sincerely friendly to other men just because they're sincerely friendly to everyone, which describes where I live right now (a large city in which most everyone acts like they live in a small town). Again, in all other parts of the USA, my gaydar for gay men is excellent.

I think the waves of interference from man-crushes, bro-mances and general metrosexuality have caused my gaydar unit to permanently malfunction.

My gaydar is usually spot-on.

Additionally my HIVpoz-dar and foreskin-dar are finely tuned and rarely wrong. But I know what's important to me.

And of course, nothing takes the place of actual communication.

If you pick up on a flamingly gay man or bulldyke... that's not gaydar, that's just being observant. Those types of gay people are, in my experience at least, the minority. When it comes to "straight acting" gays (or "gay acting straights" for that matter) or bisexuals... I usually just take people at face value and don't assume someone's sexual preference because whenever I have guessed I'm usually wrong.

Bbucko, where can I pick up those other -dar's? Did yours come standard or did you have to pay extra?

My gaydar is pretty good, but in Australia, we've got a lot of plucked and primped Italian and Greek boys that will throw your results out everytime. Doesn't really matter to me. I figure if I wanna fuck with them, it's up to me to bring it up anyway. And a few of the times I was 'wrong', it turned into something right!!!
