I'm so proud of John McCain right now

Yeah, McCain is showing class and civility. This is in sharp contrast to Hillary Clinton, unfortunately. It's going to be an interesting year, I think... If Obama wins the nomination we might actually see debates

is part of a discussion in the Et Cetera, Et Cetera forum that includes topics on Off-topic postings, current events, rants and raves....

If Obama wins the nomination we might actually see debates about the issues and not about muck-raking.. If Hillary wins, I don't think she can resist throwing mud...

At this stage in the game if she won she would not be the comeback kid but the impossible miracle kid

Don't ever under-estimate Hillary Clinton. She's tough. If we had a nuclear war, all that would be left is cockroaches and Hillary Clinton.

McCain is also starting to lap the Republican field for the 4th time in terms of delegates, he's been racking up Governor's endorsements along the way. Obama is getting that kind of support for the Democratic race too. He's padding the distance yet still far away from the delegates he needs. His biggest hurdle is the pic of him wearing a turban. Outside of that, he's been civil, often times being in the lead does that when he was expected to be a further/distant 2nd place at least. If he was Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson over & done with like in past D primary elections, he would've probably been vocally nasty early in this and then gone. Edwards was like that, then realized he wasn't getting any pity and rather than continue on in a hopeless run and continue to whine, he dropped out. Hillary, no matter what she says, has to feel the pressure and it's showing in her campaign, one day she's civil, the next she's trying whatever she can to derail the fact she's lost more ground and now, what, 11 straight primaries. She has her big states, but when the tally still has Obama up by 100 delegates or so, those have simply kept her in the game, she leads with super delegates, but trails overall.

I'll take a guess: 1959?

The answer to that question would be never, at this present time.

Dreamer-- so true. I have never been able to understand why the Republicans have been so successful at painting the Democrats as the BIG spenders. Maybe they are just better liars? Face it, they all like to spend; it's just that the Dems seem to prefer to spend to help people better their lives and the Reps are more into spending to help their buddies make obscene profits.

my 2cents is that the Republicans wanted power so much that they pandered to the Religious Reich. Wasn't it in '88 or '92 when Pat Buchanan introduced "culture war" to the masses.

Which one of the religious leaders has said they won't support McCain they will try a 3rd party run instead of supporting McCain ? I think it was James Dobson, but I could be wrong.

One very astute member mentioned clinton's and mccain's middle names in another thread "barrack hussein obama" They are Diane and Sidney, respectively.

I don't think this person likes her:
Hillary Rodham Clinton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(the page was edited to "SHE SUCKS" as the whole article)

the correct page
Hillary Rodham Clinton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John McCain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

McCain has risen above the fray mostly such as when at a town meeting a woman asked bluntly, "How do we beat the bitch?" McCain went on to refer to Clinton as Sen. Clinton and he has respect for her.

Whatever your feelings about any of the candidates, if you're not registered to vote, please register (if you're an american citizen) and vote. Yeah it might not make much of a difference but if u do vote you get the RIGHT to bitch for 4 yrs :)
