Why do you have to make it into a race issue? | I don't think he intended to make race an ISSUE. I agree this is meant in good fun and humor in this thread, but I don't think Italian is taking a stab at making race an issue as much as he's making GENDER an issue.
Civil rights is recognized and people are more conscience of race issues and there is less of a stigma about race (the rise in inter-racial marriages supports that). Whereas women still have not gotten the equal rights ammendment and society is not as conscience or sensitive to that issue.
Italian1's wording may need an adjustment here, or there, it's true that it does not raise the public ire or outrage when someone is bashing a woman, the way someone's poor choice of words implying anything in the same zipcode as race has severe consequences. (Hint: Hillary's piss poor choice of words about Johnson, King and civil rights cost her S. Carolina).
Though you're right it's not okay to bash anyone and I don't think this thread was to bash Hillary, but to poke fun. So I see your point, but I don't think he intended to make it an issue.
Look at the way misogyny is tolerated here on this board. People don't take offense to insulting a woman here, but look for accusations about politically incorrect characterizations about sexual preference. The consequences are completely different.
Do you think Imus got fired because he called the Rugby basketball team hos? or for the "nappy-headed" adjective that prefaced it?
People are more conscience of racial tones than they are about Hillary or women.
That being said, Hillary is demonstrative and those pictures fit with her personality and I don't think it's meant as a stab about her as a woman, Italian1, maybe that observation is reserved for another thread.
If you're going to say Italian1 is making it about race - you may to consider that Hitler made it about Race and Hillary is being compared to race-murdering dictator. You think Italian1's comment about a black man is what made it about race?
I don't mean to speak for Italian1 either, but I don't think he meant any harm.

Why do you have to make it into a race issue? | People bash Bush all the time, and have made a sport of comparing him to Hitler. Nobody says a word about it. The pics of Hillary are funny, but I am certain it would not go over well if Obama were made into a Hitler-type character.

And he will continue to get a free pass. It's okay to bash a woman, but not a black man. |
Shame this election is being hallmarked as a black or woman... when Bush appointed both to one of the most important positions in the country... yet the mainstream media (and markedly the bulk, if not all of this board) was silent. Hypocrisy in it's finest hour.

I think the "Heil Hillary" thing works only because of the play on words, though.

Hillary vs. black woman = the white bitch vs. the black bitch
Hillary vs. white man = the bitch vs white man
Misogyny is alive and well across the US. I'm trying to remove the word "bitch" from my vocabulary. I'm not a woman-hater.

I think the bulk of us are past that.. and those that aren't... they are in states that don't matter... either hyper-blue or hyper-red. I tend to think the bulk of Americans are adults... granted they know very little about actual fact and detail, but are actually civil in their preference. No?

Hypocrisy in it's finest hour. | I am not sure I agree the media were silent. I recall reading lengthy articles and interviews in the NYT alone about Condi.
Condoleezza Rice doesn't like to play the race card herself and is clearly annoyed when complimented on her "exceptional" achievements as an African American (her family has been college-educated for several generations).
Today, her race and gender do not count. Her main attribute is being associated with that "W" person and that does not go over well with 70% of the population.

No? | For the other poster: Condi Rice is not the president. We never had a woman president before. The office has been all-male since the very beginning, which is incredibly embarrassing for a country that prides itself in civility.
I think that many American men are against Hillary simply because of her gender. Certainly, it's not the vast majority, but it's strong enough that it could keep her from being elected.
Why do you need a dick to run the country?

| | | I just don't like the fact that people are using the "You don't like Hillary because she's a female" guilt trip to try to make people feel like they need to vote for her.
I honestly don't think that MOST of the people not voting for Hillary are only NOT going to vote for her because she's female. That's absurd. For most, she's just simply not the best choice.

It's easy to pretend that people on LPSG are "making a sport" of comparing Bush to Hitler. But it's an untrue fantasy on the part of Italian1 and faceking.
There are exactly eight Google hits on all of LPSG (not counting this one) in which Bush and Hitler are mentioned together. Here they are: - On March 26, former member big dirigible used the phrase to taunt liberals: "Go ahead, say it - "Bush = Hitler". Appreciate its cathartic, if not actual, value." No one actually took him up on the offer.
- Later in the same thread, on April 4, JQBlonde called Bush/Hitler comparisons "TRIPE".
- On May 26, Rikter8 made the only explicit comparison of Bush to Hitler on LPSG. He stated that both men "preyed on human emotion to rally people up."
- On May 31, RideRocket responded to Rikter8's comparison, telling him to "lighten up".
- On September 20, NineInchCock160IQ stated that people who call Bush Hitler "seem like complete boobs".
- ...In fact, he explicitly refuted the comparison in another post in that thread by saying that "...I don't believe Bush has the power, whereas Hitler was the fuhrer, Bush is only a puppet."
- Way back in May 2005, LongTimeComing stated that "anyone" who drew blanket comparisons to Hitler "is an idiot regardless of right or left."
- Finally, also in May 2005, quoting then-Senator Rick Santorum, who compared the Democratic leadership in Congress to Hitler.
So there you have it. One post in which a member drew a comparison between Bush and Hitler, and another post in which a member of the Senate compared Democrats to Hitler. And now, a post comparing Hillary Clinton to Hitler. By my count, we owe you one.
Now, who's making a sport of this?

Why do you need a dick to run the country? | I think you are actually wrong... I think American men are against Hillary because it's Hillary. She's a fake, has little experience, wrong on many issues, etc... Personally, if you say "you have to have a female president"... give me Condy, DiFi, late Ann Richards, etc...".
I think it's folly to assume if you are against Obama, you are a racist, if you are against Hillary you are a male chauvinist.

Now, who's making a sport of this? | Huh?????????? LPSG and the US Senate... nice reach babydoll.
Untrue fantasy... wow... for a co-moderator, you are getting a little non-biased it seems, as well as you incorrect Mister Fact Checker...
A> wasn't calling out the senate..
B> you needs to re-does ya searching.... here's a post you've conveniently missed only... um one day ago... where Alex 8.5 remarked "Yes I have a problem with this. I consider Bush in the same league as Hitler."
In case your search functionality missed it, let me point you: G.W.Bush voted as one of the top 10 presidents???
so make that two posts, and counting...
C> here's another one... you also missed. pavement calling Ann Coulter , well here you go: "Mrs. Hilter should be put out to pasture already."
Again, since your search functionality seems to oddly be different than mine, let me point it to ya: Does anyone on here not hate Ann Coulter?
Not going to bother looking for more, but guessing there are a handful. Shame to see this from a co-mod.
