I give Valentine's Day cards to everyone. I even go out and buy the boxes of Scooby Doo or Spiderman valentines. For me, they aren't only for people with whom I have (or want to have) romantic relations with.
In other words, if I had to buy valentine for everyone on LPSG that I wanted to give a valentine too, I'd be buying a LOT of fucking valentines.
I am only sending out one Valentine's Day card this year, and it is to my father and step-mother in Oklahoma whom I haven't seen in almost a year. I saw it and thought it was cute and that it would be perfect for them. They live on a farm and my dad is an ex police officer. It has a donkey on the front and says something like... "If love loving you is a crime, they had better lock me up" or something like that... I don't remember exactly. I'm not sure what it has to do with the donkey... anyway, you open up the card and these bars pop up and the donkey has this crazy look on his face and he's behind the bars... I thought it was cute. :)
Oh goodness... but, if I were going to send out cards to people from the site, I would definately send them to my close friends from the "Last Person to Post Wins" thread.
Just be glad you don't live in Saudi Arabia where this year Valentines day is effectively banned, as apparently are all things scarlet although I don't know if that includes women too. I read about this on the tube this morning and, thinking it was a joke I checked. It seems it's not. I love that the whole thing has gone 'underground'.
"Vigilant Saudi police are seeking any public signs of affection in the Kingdom of Petroleum." Perverts.
Certainly it's a convenient excuse..."Sorry, I couldn't give you a gift, I bought something but it was confiscated by the love police".
For me, they aren't only for people with whom I have (or want to have) romantic relations with.
