There are different kinds of beefiness:

1)naturally meaty and muscular (not plump at all)

2)naturally meaty and muscular but plump (Roger Clemens)

3)artificially muscular with no meat

meaty = there is some fat that can be pinched on the body

These are great definitions. Clements is 6'4" -- He's one big dude and has maintained the same body-type throughout his career. Sure he's picked up a little weight since retirement, but he certainly fits into category #2.

Although Roger Clemens took steriods, I'd still say he'd be a naturally brawny man even without taking any. I'm not a fan of his at all (I could give a flying fig about sport stars and their lives). I will say, however, that his neck is big and funny-looking because of steriods. But the steroids didn't take away that much from naturally beefy look (perhaps it's due to layer of fat over the artificially enhanced muscles).
