i commend sean on his restraint. not every performer has to be an out role model; at least he's not lying--he's just not talking. perhaps in this way he *is* being a different kind of role model...

the general public may have an intense interest in popular performers, but this in no way obligates said performers to regurgitate every personal detail on demand. the public may be *used* to performers behaving that way, but it's certainly not required.

actors like sean hayes are claiming their personal lives as personal. they are the opposite of the paris hiltons and others another poster says have no right to privacy (a position i strongly disagree with, btw). instead of being disrespected and piled onto, perhaps we can leave alone those who choose to live their private lives outside of the spotlight when not onstage.
Well said, wowniceone.

He's a very gifted musician/performer who is resisting all of those calls from the PC gay thugs who demand that he become a spokesperson for their agenda. Right on, Sean!

The film is titled "The Sum of Us". He has a pretty heated make-out scene with a male co-star, and does a really credible job. Coincidentally, the film was on LOGO tonight, I just finished watching it.

Ha I always thought Mr. Hayes was Gay, I mean really.........now if Spacey is gay, mmm lemme get some of that. He was so hot in American Beauty. As for Russell Crowe in "The Sum of Us".....he played the gay character, but I don't think it was the best job at all, sure he did what he had to, but it could have been better.

I thought Russell Crowe's portrayal in the movie was very convincing. Maybe it didn't translate all that well around the rest of the world, but the type of ordinary working class Aussie gay guy Crowe played was an entirely convincing one. There are heaps of blokes just like the one he played.

When Billy's Hollywood Screen Test came out he was gay. In fact the film is supposed to be somewhat autobiographical. It was only with his mainstream fame that he became cagey when asked if he was gay. Hollywood is very homophobic and even known actors who are openly gay have restricted careers.
All the same, I think it is cowardly and a bit disgusting of Sean Hayes to pretend he's not gay, or just to let people think that he's not. He's not going to get leading man parts anyway, so he has little to loose.

1/If it is why disagree,2/ if it isn't why believe it and if you dont think you know for sure why 2?
