My point about posting the video and pictures of Ramon being measured was not to deny that he is a huge-dicked guy, but to provide evidence that people, even ones who are without deceitful intent, typically overestimate the size of large penises, whether in themselves or in others, whenever they try to express it in a determinate measurement. They see an eight-inch dick and estimate it as ten inches long. This has the effect of making people credulous of lies and exaggerations, and also makes a lot of men who are not huge-dicked underestimate their penis size in relation to statistical norms (e.g., the guys who show up on this forum saying things like "My penis is of just average size, 7" long x 6" around").

Of course, one can set the whole business of measurement aside and ask: what does it matter whether one guy's dick is longer or thicker than another guy's? I think that there are two sorts of answer to this. One is that it makes a difference to how things work in the sexual activities of the guys concerned, as shown in all the threads here about condom sizes, whether a thick dick is easier to take up the ass than a thin one, and so on. The other sort of answer is just that guys, and to some extent women, do care about these things, whether or not there is any reason in the nature of things why they should do so.

Based on the pics and the video, I would guess he is closer to 7.5-8 inches since the girl is cheating on the measurement. He always seemed a lot bigger than me, but I guess that is just his girth.

When guys measure from the side the curvature of their pelvic area allows the ruler to recess 1/2 an inch or more, thus giving the appearance of a longer measurement. It is about as accurate as when the guys on here use a tape measure that starts at the 2 inch mark! The only accepted measurement (and this is how the Kinsey people did it) is to measure the top FROM THE BASE OF THE PENIS (where it projects from the pelvic area) and the bottom and average the two. This gives true length and takes into account the natural curve of the penis. If you only measure the top then guys with an upward curve will always appear smaller the those with straight or downward curves.

I have noticed that a lot of the LARGER porn guys have downward curves or completely straight cocks. The downward curves make them look like they are still hanging and therefore look much larger than they are. Camera trickery!

I always thought that the official way to measure the penis, as used in medical surveys, was on the top with the ruler or tape measure pressed into the pubic bone.

This allows an accurate comparison of the actual penis length and not just the visible length which depends on the amount of fat in that area.(Fatter people can still use most of their hidden length since fat compresses)

There have been many threads about variations in measurements depending on excitement levels, diet etc. so I would think that most people state their maximum size.

Unless he's on viagra, a standard erection without much stimulation is usually around 1/2" smaller than it would be during during a blowjob, for example, so I think that Ramone is probably closer to 9" in a more excited state!
