Sure I've been a uro before, (viva viagra!) and yeah, he's just a regular doctor who has a specialty. He's your doctor, nothing to EVER be ashamed of, or concerned about. He'll need to do a proper exam....good luck with that. Hopefully he'll just tell ya to drink more fluids.....sometimes if we're dehydrated semen is the first to feel it. I read that somewhere. And if it's something else, at least you're getting it taken care of hopefully very early.

Since this is your first visit, I'm sure the doc will give you a complete exam...He will use his finger to check the size and density of the prostate galn. If yiu relax your annus it won't hurt. He should feel your testicles to ckeck for lumps, Don't worry if you get aroused as he has seen many a asshole, testicle and penis.

Good luck!!!!

And be thankful you do! Urologists love it when guys get hard because it's a way to examine the function of the penis without having to give you a shot to do it. It allows them to check for proper bloodflow and look for potential erectile problems which could also be early signs of heart disease. This is the one doctor where getting an erection is NOT an embarrassment but rather helpful to the examination. In his office, you want to get a boner. Half his practice is spent working to get guys erections and believe me, when guys with chronic ED are sitting there with a raging hard-on in his office both he and the patient couldn't be happier.

Hate to say this, but turn 40 and erections become early barometers of more serious things. Think of it less as a sexual thing than as something that could save your life.

I've had a ton of urologists over time and believe me, you get used to it pretty quickly. If you think your GP sees it all, these guys see even more and they want to see more because it's so important for your continued sexual health. Lot of serious things can go wrong with male plumbing. It's a vastly complex bit of nature's engineering. Your urologist should be one of your partners in your continuing good sexual health. Talk about anything and everything and if you can get hard then do it! You'll be giving the doctor an important bit of information about your sexual health.

THANK alot Jason
Your advice has really helped and made me feel more comfortable.
I have gotten hard in other exams so I know I will tomorrow too. I just turned 41 last week and I am freaking out that something is wrong with my dick or my balls so I want to be sure.
Thanks again...

Glad to help!

The day may come when knowing you'll get hard tomorrow is a cause to celebrate.

Dudepiston is likely right. It may just be a case of dehydration. Gloopy semen that comes out like jello (if it's what I think it is) can be alarming. Believe it or not, that's considered a normal variation though it could indicate epididymitis or an inflamation so getting it checked is important. There is some chance you may be asked to produce a semen sample so look at it this way, if you're hard then you're half way to providing one! It's the one semi-public place where you're supposed to have an erection with complete and total license; to talk about and show anything with an expert in everything having to do with the male body. Use that resource! That's what he's there for. Make a list of questions, bring them with you. Now's the best chance to ask, when and where you're supposed to, every question you've ever had with no embarrassment. If there are any men in the world who know that not every erection means you want to have sex, it's urologists.

As long as its not painful and there is no blood in your semen it should be fine.

Semen can be white, yellow and even brown! And everything inbetween.

If you just finished puberty that could explain the change. Don't worry about it. Pain + blood = bad. Anything else and its probably okay.

I just turned 41 so puberty is way over. but turning 41 is one of the reasons I am nervous. I know how things change as we get older and I take really good care of myself and have never had this problem before. It's been a funny color for about a month and I am not taking any medications and I frequently feel the need to pee but when I go it's just a few drops.

You guys have been really helpful
Thanks

At 41 I'm guessing this probably isn't the case with the OP, unless of course he's a really, really late bloomer.

Yellowish/brownish can definitely be an indication of the presence of blood, be it from a UTI, prostate issue, etc. As a matter of personal experience I had a roaring UTI + epididymitis early last year and let me tell you, my spooge was messed up for several weeks to come as a result. It was the most god awful discomfort I've ever experienced, in fact.

Hehe okay I didn't know his age at the time of the earlier post

And so long as there is no pain then...all should be well!

Jason,
I'm was thinking about seeing my Dr to see about some Viagra myself. Can't stay hard as long as I used to, 46 yo. What should I expect Dr to do and ask??

I agree with Jason, make a list of your questions and take it with you. You are apt to forget something you wanted to ask when you get caught up talking with the urologist about other things.
Be prepared to most likely being the youngest person in the waiting room by about 30 years.

As long as you're there, ask for some viagra or cialis. Good to have around just in case (or for recreation) As long as you're in good shape, the urologist will have no problem writing a script, may even give you some free samples. Oh, if you can, have it written for 100 mg. Same price per pill as the lesser strengths and you can split them up.

tenman,

Tell the doctor about your ED problem. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Look, as soon as you hit your 40s, work and home stress can affect your ability to keep it up. You might also want to the doctor to check both your blood pressure and chlorestol, which can also affect your ability to keep it up. When I hit my 40s I began to notice this problem and my wife suggeste I go to see the urologist. Since that visit I've been on Viagra and now Cialis and my penis stays as hard as if I were a 17 year old, unitil I ejeculate.

Keep in mind, many men have this problem because the ED medications are making a fortune for the drug industry.
